We had the good fortune of connecting with Eloise Heath and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Eloise, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?

You don’t have to be an expert to find cool things at the thrift store.

I began thrifting in college to decorate my room with affordable pieces, and in doing so realized I was able to find unique decor that allowed me to express myself. I haven’t stopped thrifting since and now my home is filled with quality vintage and secondhand pieces that bring me joy.

It can be intimidating to walk into a store and not know where to start, so my advice would be look around and see what speaks to you. It doesn’t have to be a designer name, or fit a certain trend, it just has to make you happy.

Thrifting is for everyone.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

What makes my business unique is that it doesn’t fit into one box (quite literally). I have an eclectic taste in decor from MCM, post modern, minimal to modern. I’m always impressed by businesses who can fill a shop with one aesthetic but for me my own personal taste varies quite a bit.

That has been reflected in the pieces I bring to the online shop. I love mixing and matching, and really surrounding myself with items that bring me joy. If that means muted, minimal colors – I have things for you. Or if that means a vase that’s shaped like a coiled electrical cord I also have that for you. I like pushing the boundaries with decor and bringing unexpected conversation pieces.

I think the key to growing your business is staying true to yourself. It’s easy to get caught up in what other people are doing but the more you focus on what you believe in, you’ll find that other people will resonate.

It’s been far from easy to have a business in such a competitive space. It’s a lot of work spending hours sifting through products to curate the perfect assortment. Not to mention cleaning, photographing, listing, and running the social media. It’s incredibly draining at times but once you list a collection and receive excitement from your customers it makes it all worth it.

I want people to realize that vintage and secondhand items are more than just a trend. They’re for everyone, they’re made to last and they’re so much more sustainable than buying something on trend from a big box retail store. I just want to be one small part of that solution.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Boulder Colorado is the most peaceful little slice of the mountains.

Whenever anyone visits the agenda consists of a hike or two, breweries, Pearl street, and of course thrift stores.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My grandma Ruth had a basement filled with vintage treasures, and spent her weekends at estate sales. Her home was perfectly eclectic, and uniquely her from the bubblegum pink bathroom tiles to the reading room filled to the brim with indoor plants.

It took me until I was an adult to realize my eclectic taste in home decor was most definitely inspired by her. She was a textile expert and was able to tastefully match patterns, colors and textures. Now I’m lucky to have a few of her pieces tied in with my own eclectic finds.
