We had the good fortune of connecting with Erin Nutini and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Erin, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
“Finding a fundamental purpose and passion in this journey called life, and then having the courage and vision to make a living out of it, will bring you a depth of happiness that can’t be found in any other way.”
This sums up everything about who I am and what I am trying to find. I think we are all constantly trying to figure ourselves out. Asking ourselves what should we be doing with our time. Most importantly what fuels our souls and makes us happy and content. Once this is found or realized, the goal is to hold on to it, make it work for your life and create a lifestyle out of it. Having a purpose in life will keep us going and sharing it with others will bring us joy and for me real happiness.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I stay busy professionally in many ways. I have my full-time job, a part-time job and many side hustles. My photography has always been my number one passion. I am grateful that I can use this passion as a skill to make a living. I live in my van, traveling around, mainly Colorado, all things outdoors while photographing it all. Out of my nomadic lifestyle a new business idea was born which is my mother and I’s greeting card company, Nomadic Notes.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Funny this was a real life situation just last year! My two best friends came to visit me in Colorado and wanted to see some of the National Parks. I was currently living in a van in Colorado and had been photographing parks and exploring most of Colorado and Utah so I knew exactly where to go with a weeks time.
I picked them up from the airport and we drove down the the Sand Dunes and stayed in Durango. Then over to Mesa Verde for some fried bread! We then made our way to Moab to camp for a few days so we could explore Arches National Park and Canyonlands. We drove through Arches, stopping off to hike, photograph and make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I was most excited to take them on one of my favorite hikes in the Canyonlands, through the slot canyons and fields of red rock towers. After Moab, we circled back up to Colorado and stopped off to soak in some hot springs in Glenwood.
Away from it all for a week, just the three of us like the old days!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give a shoutout all the women in my life. Without their constant love and support I would not be who I am today. They inspire me to keep going, keep loving, keep pushing the boundaries and stay strong. Life is a roller coaster and you have to have strength to ride it.
