We had the good fortune of connecting with Forrest Moul and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Forrest, what do you attribute your success to?
A businesses’ first impression is crucial – it needs to communicate its strengths, and showcase continuing trust.
Selecting someone to handle this messaging is a huge decision, and I recognize that it’s an honor to be chosen to build someone’s brand.
At Word & Roger, we want to assimilate into the client’s culture and thought processes.
We aim to become team members, invested in the success of the client and company because we want to be just as proud of the end results as they are.
Because of this team member mentality, and subsequent strong end-results, the bulk of our work comes through word of mouth and recommendations from past clients.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
i got my start in advertising agencies in Chicago.
Knowing how the big agencies operate, both good and bad, has allowed me to cherry pick what practices I bring to my own company.
It has allowed me to utilize big company strengths and avoid the negative aspects of creative “factories”.
I can provide high-end, agency quality work without the lengthy meetings, and sky high pricing.
I touched on it earlier – what I’d want the world to know about Word & Roger is that our approach to creating a brand goes beyond our extensive client deep dive. We aim to assimilate into the client team and culture to work with the same pride, goals and integrity that they deserve.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Denver / The Front Range has changed a lot in my 11+ years here, but there are some constants that -luckily for all of us- are here to stay.
If the high country is holding snow, then we’re skiing.
I enjoy giving tours of the less-traveled parts of Winter Park and Copper Mountain – staying late in the lot with friends.
If it’s closer to summer, then we’re going to catch a show at Red Rocks, grab outdoor drinks on one of the many outdoor patios, take a walk through Washington Park, relax on my front porch – or camp in one of my highly guarded secret spots.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My father was self-employed his entire career.
He modeled how hard work leads to the freedoms that come with the territory.
Watching him definitely helped me grasp what being an entrepreneur means.
I also learned, and continue to learn, from so many I’ve met along my path – from my professor’s at Miami University – to internships – to my agency experience – to my mentors – to my current day clients – I’m always learning.
