We had the good fortune of connecting with Gavin Romero and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gavin, can you tell us about an impactful book you’ve read and why you liked it or what impact it had on you?
A book that really changed my outlook on how I live everyday life would have to be, The Ancient Secret of The Flower of Life. This book taught me at a very young age that there’s so much more to this than just this. I know that may not make any sense at all but that’s true, most people get stuck in this 9-5 gotta pay my bills mindset, and truth be told I find myself falling back into that sometimes, but this book teaches you that life is to lived, it’s to be studied, but it’s also to be enjoyed. It impacted me by making me open my eyes, and then my chakras, and helped me see that life doesn’t stop, it keeps moving, and If you’re able to move with it, you can live forever.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Music. Without music I wouldn’t be who I am. Growing up I had a lot of people telling me, or in better words asking me why I was making music. Telling me it would never pay off. Maybe their right, because I still never made a dime off my musics, but to me it was never about that, it was about freedom, expressing who I am through my words and just hoping that If it clicked with one person that I was doing enough. It was never easy being the outcast, the kid who thought everyone would want to rock with him and ending up being the kid no one rocked with. My father abandoned my sister and I at a young age and from then on I knew I’d rather do something that made me happy for me than do something that made others like me. I learned that at the end of the day, I don’t care if people like me or not, because I love me. Period.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’d say If you’re here you gotta try the Bourbon chicken, it’s like nothing you ever had before! There’s this cool little spot downtown on 16th called a lucky strike, I’d probably take them there too, school them in some bowling! Of course we got water world depending on the snow, and we got Elitches too. Anywhere you go here, Colorados one of the most beautiful places in the world. I wouldn’t trade it for nothing!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My brothers! Without my brothers I would be no where near the person I am today, and I owe that all to them. They inspired me to make music, to make movies, just to make my life what I say I want it to be. If I’m down I know no matter what, no matter the time, no matter the place, my brothers will always answer the call and be right there.
