Meet Georgette Braden | Flight Attendant Consultant and Educator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Georgette Braden and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Georgette, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
As the person behind FAprepschool, my thought process was driven by a combination of personal aviation passion and experience. My journey was full of excitement, success, and challenges. I decided to give up my flight attendant job at Emirates Airlines when I became a mom, I felt responsible to be physically available for my two boys, since my husband is a pilot. That was one of the reasons behind my creation. When I moved to USA, I realised how hard it was to be a working mother in aviation, I also did not want to give up on my passion. I found there is a great opportunity for me to stay involved and share my knowledge, skills, and experience with anyone who does not know where to start their flight attendant journey. I wanted to build something that would simplify the entry to aviation and offer curated content that could help people achieve their goals. Also, I aimed for the service to be accessible to students, and professionals anywhere, anytime, breaking down geographical and financial barriers. Moreover, I noticed that many individuals struggle with accessing high-quality, affordable, tailored educational resources, and struggled with courses that are scripted with complicated vocabulary. Traditional options were often expensive, generic, or inaccessible to a boarder audience. I saw an opportunity to create a platform that could democratize access to these resources by making the content. Hence, FAprepschool’s content is scripted with simple vocabulary so multi-lingual individuals can prepare for the new journey without worries. The pricing is very reasonable and the courses do not expire.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a multilingual leader with over a decade of experience in Aviation safety and hospitality, operations management, and quality assurance. I started my journey in Dubai in 2008, when I joined Emirates Airlines as a Flight attendant. At Emirates, I gained multiple unique skills and knowledge which set me apart from others to identify training needs, implement compliance strategies, and lead organizational development initiatives set the foundation for her leadership skills. The transition to founding the Flight Attendant Prep School was a natural progression, combining my expertise in aviation, customer service, and education to create a unique niche in the industry. I faced multiple challenges at the start, specially providing accurate technical content about multiple different airplanes, as I am certified on both Airbus and Boeing, I was responsible to deliver a simple program that combines these airplanes without skipping any important aspect. Also, founding my own online space required overcoming the challenges of entrepreneurship, from developing a business model to creating impactful training programs. Throughout my career, I learned the importance of adaptability and continuous improvement. Whether it was implementing new policies or leading organizational development initiatives, I consistently embraced change and sought opportunities to grow. I also learned the value of mentorship and collaboration; I see that many think of the flight attendant role as a “not serious” job mostly of the online reputation, however, this role is very essential for the airlines. Flight attendants along with pilots are the backbones in the aviation industry, a commercial flight cannot take off without pilots and flight attendants, I encourage everyone who is dreaming of traveling the world to take that step forward and apply for such opportunities. Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My best friend Nada, whom i owe a lot in my aviation journey, will be thrilled to visit. To start her vacation in Denver at The Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum, she is a flight attendant and for sure will enjoy flying thee simulators at the museum. Also, i see her enjoying a nice hike at Rocky Mountain National Park – Sky Pond Trail. Coming from Dubai, she needs to endulge the views. I would add an escape room for fun, I enjoyed Rabbit Hole Recreation Services – Escape Rooms at Louisville. We live in Superior, she will enjoy learning about the history of our town, we can visit Superior Historical Museum to learn about the mining and the history of our town. For a breakfast, we will definetly eat at PJ Diners, we love eating locally and supporting little businesses around our town. For lunches and dinners, nothing beats a nice cultural variety at Avanti, choosing from diffirent global cuisines everyone gets their preferences.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I dedicate this shoutout to my husband Geoffrey who believed in my vision and fully supported it. He had immense input by sharing his exceptional knowledge in Aviation as a Boeing 757/767 Captain, and my two boys as they deserve clipping my wings for them. Also, I want to give a big shoutout to every person who is looking for a job with a view, I want to say to them: Do It.
