We had the good fortune of connecting with Gina Burrows and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gina, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The success of our non-profit sale and club is due to the amazing people who are involved. Each one of the club board and sale committee dedicate hours to making our club a great resource and support network for families with multiples. Our sale committee works tirelessly to produce a highly successful event that is our main fundraiser and provides an important source of gently used children’s items to our community. Without our team of volunteers we would not be able to provide this important service to our community.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The Boulder County Parents of Twins and More (BCPTM) is a non-profit organisation, funded by dues and fundraising efforts, that 1. Provides information and emotional support to parents involved with multiple birth pregnancies and child rearing. 2. Educates parents and others who have direct responsibility and interest in the aspects of child development that relate especially to multiple births. and 3. Provides a forum for members to meet and discuss issues involved with multiples, including family activities and outreach programs. Raising multiple children is a unique experience and I love how our organisation supports that challenge. For my family, BCPTM has created a safe space for us to receive the much needed support throughout pregnancy and while we raise our now 4 year old twin girls. During the pandemic BCPTM has adapted to provide support for the many families whose parents now work from home or who are unemployed. Our member Facebook group is somewhere our members can and have received advice regarding child care needs, advice about child meets, and challenges that have developed during this time. Zoom meetups have become the norm. We have held safe events to continue our community such as secret gifting, dance parties, and crafting kits that can be done in safety at home. One of our biggest successes during the pandemic is the movement of our once in-person semi-annual fundraising kids sale to online, the Boulder County Kids Sale. Our goal was to still provide this much needed sale to our community in a safe way. Our members and volunteers solved the many issues involved in changing our widely popular sale format by putting all of our items for sale on Shopify. Our consignment sale is open for a few days to the public to find fantastic deals on children’s name brand items for a fraction of retail cost. Our consignors then bring all of their sold items to Boulder Valley Christian Church, our long term sponsor and supporter of our sale. Buyers then pick up their items at a curbside pickup. Thanks to the adaptability of our consignors and buyers our sale has continued throughout this pandemic. Most importantly, due to our strict adherence to state safety protocols regarding masks and social distancing there have been no COVID-19 cases associated with our sale. If anyone is interested in learning more about becoming a member or a supporter of our sale please go to our website bouldertwins.org.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When my family have visited Colorado I always take them to the mountains. I love the Rocky Mountains for the beauty and peace it contains. Hiking through the Rocky Mountains is such a unique experience that every visitor needs to enjoy.
