Meet Glenn Maddocks | Skier, Coach, Founder and Dad.

We had the good fortune of connecting with Glenn Maddocks and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Glenn, how do you think about risk?
The biggest risk in life is not taking any. Ever since I was a little snapper growing up on the beach in Australia, I’ve always been inquisitive, curious and wide eyed. My zest to seek answers, see where my family came from and to experience the roller coaster of life has always been omnipresent. It’s lead me to travel the globe, work in numerous countries and venture out on my own.

Risk is inherent in everything we do in life. We all have different tolerance levels however, but my view is that I don’t want to look back and wish I had not tried something for the sake of fear. Fear is the biggest negative for humanity.

What should our readers know about your business?
Kaddie is the first content production business on the planet (that we know of) that charges brands on a pay-per-use basis. We believe that businesses of all shapes and sizes should have access to world class content, but most cannot afford the upfront agency costs to get it. Therefore, we set out to build a better way to pay for branded advertising assets.

That lead us to build the first content platform that charges per impression and pays creators based on the usage of the work they create.

Every business goes through their challenges. Businesses that try to change the status quo go through more. And those that try and challenge methodologies go through the most. We are the latter. We’re also self funded and bootstrapped, hence we have been through the lot.

My co-founder Mike and I, have been through 18 months of testing our model and being told it won’t work. Only now have we been able to flip the narrative whereby people respond with “That is genius. How come no one is doing it this way? Makes so much sense now”.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m all abut the outdoors. So we’d be off to play golf, go ski, bike or perhaps even a hike. My favourite spots in Colorado are up in the mountains. So I’d be all about sending people to go rafting in Salida, kayaking in Grand Lake, or hiking up around RMNP.

In Boulder Denver, I’d be hitting up somewhere outside for a cold beer.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Let me think about this one. Plenty of individuals obviously. And some organizations too. But I think I want any shoutout to go to organizations that do more to inspire those kids that need it most.
