We had the good fortune of connecting with Greg Conn and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Greg, what’s the most important thing you’ve done for your children?
Being a parent has been one of the biggest blessings in my life. My children have become walking, living mirrors of myself. They became constant reminders of where I lacked, and where I fell short of being a positive role model in their lives and in the lives of others. This realization was a pivotal moment in my life. I decided I was going to unlearn everything and relearn with them.
My wife and I both decided to leave our careers and start fresh. This allowed us to be way more present in our children’s lives. This also allowed us to focus more on our creative output into the world, instead of the constant consumption we all have fell victim to throughout the years.
If I can teach my children anything, it’s to remain in the present moment, and to never waiver to the negative thoughts that either keep us scared of the past or anxious about the future.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My journey is one that has its own road. I have no idea where it’s going or where I am going. I do know I enjoy creating from a place of love and understanding. I chose to follow this journey just 5 years ago, at a time where I was completely lost in life. When I found myself a year clean off opiates, I kept finding myself in nature, consumed with what I thought at the time was an escape from the noise, but what I now recognize as being completely present. Photography, for me, isn’t a means to make money, or seek notoriety, it’s merely a way to stay on the right track in life and that is only done efficiently in the present moment. Whatever happens due to this, so be it.
This journey has been filled with hardship, that’s for sure. Learning to live on a limited budget and income has been extremely humbling to say the least. on top of that, living a life so differently from others creates a sense of distance from those choosing to live a more traditional lifestyle. Unfortunately fear, and insecurities keep people judging things they don’t understand. With that said it is in these hardships where we have forged a new mentality of strength and perseverance. Our family has bonded closer, our fears melting away, day by day. This is living, this is learning.
If I wanted the world to know one thing about myself, is that, I am you, and you are me. We are here to learn from each other so we can independently heal. Only then, can we collectively love one another unconditionally. I love you.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I have found myself on the outskirts of society for sometime now. So our journey would consist of being present in nature and breaking bread amongst the vast landscapes we tend to under appreciate in our hectic, fast paced lifestyles.
Most people that visit and go out into nature with myself, usually leave with a whole new appreciation for the outdoors and the wildlife we share it with,

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to shoutout my wife Tamra, first and foremost, as her relentless support and unconditional love has made all of our families visions come to fruition. I also want to shoutout the collective. The collective is us. all of us. I can feel our energy shifting to a place of awareness and understanding. We will deffinitely have to experience some more darkness before we rid our world of most negative energy. We just have to keep focusing on the light until it becomes our collective reality. Keep going,
