We had the good fortune of connecting with Gundega Stevens & Abigail Kreuser  and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gundega & Abigail, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Curate Your Space helps to bring beautiful art into the homes and businesses in our community.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Curate Your Space was born out of our love for the Local Arts and the support of the Community!

Whether you are looking for someone to rearrange your current art collection, hang a new one, or you are looking for a specific piece for a specific place, we are here to help create that perfect space for you.

We create the vibe that is you, bringing your personality into your space.
Art is a powerful way to express and represent yourself and your interests. The right piece of art can not only energize your space, but even tell your story.

We got to where we are by putting our hearts and souls into the arts. We both own Art Galleries in Colorado Springs and now they are directly next door to each other! Gundega owns G44 Gallery at 121 E Boulder Street, CSC 80903. Abigail owns Kreuser Gallery at 125 E Boulder Street, CSC 80903.

We have always gone to collector’s homes here and there and curated for them. Abby actually started curating for businesses around town before opening her Gallery. So through discussions and building our friendship and growing the galleries, just over a year ago, we decided to join forces and make a business out of it!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There are so many amazing businesses in our wonderful city, it would be hard to get everything in!

We would start every morning with a cup of coffee from one of the great local roasters; Purple Mountain Coffee, Building Three, Story Coffee Company, Urban Steam, Frankly Coffee and Loyal… just to name a few!

One day would be spent hiking and site seeing at Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak, Green Mountain Falls and maybe Bear Creek Nature Center, if they had kiddos, Catamount Institute would definitely be a stop!

Another day would be spent Gallery hopping! WE would visit G44 Gallery, Kreuser Gallery, The Machine Shop, Alvarez Gallery & Art School, The Modbo, 45 Degrees, Gallery 113, Art 111, Cottonwood Center for the Arts and more!

Checking out one of the many local eateries to grab a bite; White Pie, Chiba Bar, The Ute & Yeti, Stellina, The Rabbit Hole or Saigon Cafe!

Lastly, we would definitely have a day or two of catching a show at The Dance Alliance, Ormao, Millabo, Theatre Works, The Ent Center for the Arts and ICONS.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
A local mover & shaker, a collector; Karin Ellis hired each of us to do a job in the same week. She motivated us to join forces and because of that Curate Your Space was born!
