We had the good fortune of connecting with Haiden Stipp and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Haiden, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
After working for a local florist throughout college, I found a deep love for flowers that I hadn’t been aware of. I felt a tug on my heart from the Lord to move on from that job which felt insane because I really, really loved it. But shortly after, the idea of starting a business started to come to mind and it would not go away. I found a passion doesn’t feel like work and I had always dreamed of being self employed, so the time had finally come for that to become a reality.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are a floral business based in Springfield, Missouri. What sets us apart is that we are rooted in Jesus. We aim to use our business as a way to serve people in their very best moments of their lives and some of their saddest. We feel as though flowers can really bless people in all seasons. We want those who choose us to flower their wedding to feel so cared for and that we’ve gone above and beyond to serve them.

Something we are super excited about is doing more silk flower installations. This is something I dreamt of from the beginning as another way to be set apart. Businesses who need a storefront revamp or a photo op can have us come in to install an flower art sculpture of sorts. It draws people in who have seen others take photos in front of it—the same way a mural might be used for.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We love Springfield, MO because it’s big enough to have several things to do but small enough to where you can drive anywhere in 15 minutes.

We’d first take them to Tinga Tacos, the cutest street taco spot tucked in a side street of Downtown Springfield. We’d pop down on Historic Commercial Street and take them to Eurasia Coffee Co where you can find the coziest Chai Latte. Some plant shopping at Schaffitzel’s Greenhouse and then to Harrison House which is the dreamiest home decor boutique. If we had time to squeeze in a best friend photo shoot, we’d go to Lightbox on Commercial St which is the neatest building that has different places to rent out for photographers to take their clients. Dessert at Prairie Pie for the most buttery scalloped crust on a Honey Sea Salt Pie!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband Joshua had no experience with flowers but in an effort to share in something I love, took interest in learning about flowers. He also came to love them and now walks along side as a co-owner of Good Ground Floral. He is a constant encourager and big dreamer. So he did not hesitate when I felt the push to start up Good Ground. He deserves all the shoutouts, I couldn’t be doing any of this without him.
