We had the good fortune of connecting with Harry Foreman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Harry, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Creativity keeps me alive & safe. During my teenage years I was hellbent on facing fears, making mistakes, & getting into trouble. A couple of close calls with death began to make me think, “Maybe there’s something keeping me here (in this life).” Drawing was my escape, my medicine, & soon began to turn into my favorite skill.

My incredibly talented sister Britta was attending the Fashion Institute of Ft. Lauderdale & was able to help me get some of my drawings on t-shirts which really made me began to believe in art as a career direction rather than just a hobby that kept my demons away. I got into screenprinting on shirts & that turned into a nice side hustle beyond just creating artwork for others. It led me to get back into school & I ended up going to UCF for graphic design & entrepreneurship.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art is forever changing. Becoming an artist has turned me into a student for life. I love shapeshifting my styles & learning how to grow my skillset.

I grew up playing hockey, lacrosse, & tennis so my work ethic, tenacity, & “f*ck-you, get out of my way” mentality is definitely something that sets me apart from others.

I love painting BIG. Murals are what excite me the most. Creating public artwork on a large scale is something that will stick around when I’m gone.

Akyros is a greek word for “cancel or void” & it’s a reminder to keep going, to create, & to lead with love.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Food: Tocabé, UCHI, Tavernetta, Bluepan, Billy’s Inn, & Fire on the Mountain.

Coffee: The Corner Beet, 2914 Coffee, Radiator, Bardo, & The Devil’s Cup

Beer: Little Machine, Woods Boss, Our Mutual Friend, Goldspot, & Ratio Beerworks

Drink: Forest Room 5, The Meadowlark, Milkbar (I need to get out more!)

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Too many to list. My loving parents. No matter how many times I broke their heart, they have always there for me. My sister’s have shaped me into someone worth hanging out with. My partner Danielle keeps me motivated, filled with love, & pushes me to be great everyday.

Mr. Difalco was my highschool math teacher. He hated that I never did my homework but still brought me colored pencils for me to doodle in the back of class. As long as I passed & stayed out of trouble, he would let me hang my finished drawings on his classroom door. This was my first time receiving positive feedback from an adult towards my creativity.

My friends, the Orlando creative community, & too many Orlando small business owners to name, gave me opportunities & confidence that have allowed me to be a freelancer for 6+ years now. Even though I’m now living in Denver, CO I’m constantly being brought back to FL to paint murals & other creative installations.

Cole NeSmith, who runs Memoir Agency in Orlando, FL, is an inspiration, a friend, & genuine human that is constantly getting me mural work. We’ve collaborated with Verizon, Levy Restaurants, University of Central Florida, and many more.

Since moving out to Colorado, Kelsey & Joy McEntaffer (Owners of Buckmoon Vintage) have provided me with so much opportunity & have connected me with so many local shops that are selling my work. In 2022 I’ve displayed my art within The Corner Beet, Little Machine Brewing, Birch Road Denver, 2914 Coffee, Woods Boss Brewing, Cristos Coffee, two West + Main Real Estate Offices, & Fire On The Mountain.

Jessica & Barry Luginbill (Owners of Cristos Coffee) welcomed me into their coffeeshop to display my pop-art inspired landscape paintings & we’re now working on a mural together for their new Cristos Coffee downtown Boulder location. (2054 Broadway)
