We had the good fortune of connecting with Harry Glor and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Harry, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Consistency of execution. At the end of the day, successful people show up consistently and execute effectively, regardless of industry. I try to think about people in my life who have had success and what brought them there. None of them are the type to just show up and clock in – they practice and work with great intent in everything they do. As a business owner and manager, my goal is to set a good example for my staff to follow. Like everyone, I need to improve on this, but it is always at the top of mind and something our team works toward every day. Do the boring things with great intent and conviction day in and day out, and good things will happen.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We are a small, private Sports Performance Facility. We offer training for athletes of all ages (Middle School, High School, Collegiate, and Professional), as well as general population fitness. Primal takes on a hybrid approach that blends the best of personal training and small group training, with personalized programming and small group sizes. Our coaching is what sets us apart. I grew my personal training business while working as an independent contractor for 5 years before opening Primal’s doors. It wasn’t easy, but it wasn’t any huge undertaking either. I just showed up consistently with good effort, even when I didn’t want to…with a couple hiccups along the way…

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We’d grab some bacon-egg-and-cheese sandwiches from Rise and Shine then go straight to the mountains. I’d take them for a week of skiing, snowboarding, archery, hiking, camping, swimming in cold rivers, cooking out, and hanging by the campfire. Crested Butte, Telluride, and Leadville would surely be on the itinerary.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My college professor, Dr. Jason Tilan, deserves a lot of my appreciation. Dr. Tilan is a professor at Georgetown University, where I studied Human Biology and Physiology. When others looked past me, Dr. Tilan did not. He challenged me and believed in me, which was the combination I needed to get the most out of my education. He taught me how to think critically and formulate those thoughts. I owe Dr. Tilan a great deal of gratitude for that.
