We had the good fortune of connecting with Hillary Worden and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Hillary, what principle do you value most?
Using sustainable and organic ingredients. I think being transparent to customers allows them to gain trust and know exactly what they are purchasing.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
As a mother of 3, I know bath time should be a fun time for both kids and parents. I wanted to create a bar of soap that was geared more towards kids with the size, scents and utilizing the bar as a toy! Creating a floating bar of soap wasn’t easy, but after months of trial and error with the formula, we finally came up with the perfect Dinghy bar of soap. This process has been difficult since formulating a new product isn’t easy at home but with the help of my family, we were able to tweak smells, formulas and technique. One lesson I learned a long the way was to be persistent and to not give up. I wanted to create a bar of soap just for kids and have them get excited to be independent and clean themselves while having fun!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to Fort Collins and walk down Old Town. Fort Collins has the best breweries, night life and a beautiful campus. They also have the best boutiques. One of the my favorite places to eat in Fort Collins is Big City Burrito, which is a locale staple if you visit. Another great place to eat is Paninos Italian Restaurant. They have great calzones! I would also take them skiing and/or tubing up in the mountains to Keystone and Vail. I would then drive to Grand Lake for some ice fishing. Lastly, I would show them Manitou Springs near Colorado Springs and check out the penny arcade. They have the best salt water taffy!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shoutout is to my husband and kids. Without my kids being 100% authentic with their opinion as well as my testers, I wouldn’t have Dinghy Soaps. My husband has been very patient, my best critic and wholesome.
