We had the good fortune of connecting with Irena Pergjika and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Irena, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The initial thought process behind starting my own business was driven by a sense of purpose that went beyond personal gain or career advancement. Alongside the ambition to create a bigger impact in my community and contribute meaningfully to the world at large, there was an incessant feeling I just couldn’t shake off. A voice inside my head, my higher consciousness, kept reminding me daily that I was destined for something greater, something that aligned more closely with my values, skills, and passions. It was a call to action that became impossible to ignore, and it transformed from a mere thought into a guiding principle for my life.

Acting on that voice was about more than just wanting to be my own boss; it was about manifesting the change I wished to see in the world. I realized that starting my own business would give me the platform to address issues I deeply care about and to empower others to join in that mission. The aim was not just to establish a successful business but to create a meaningful legacy that would benefit both my community and the world. Taking that leap involved risks and challenges, but the vision of a bigger, broader impact made it all worthwhile.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets me and my business apart from others is my unyielding belief in alignment with one’s calling or life’s purpose. When you’re aligned with your life’s purpose, other goals and milestones become almost like boxes to check off, because things naturally fall into place. This perspective has been instrumental in shaping my journey business-wise. While my path has been anything but easy, the hurdles I’ve faced have become stepping stones rather than stumbling blocks. Of course, there are challenges—self-doubt and imposter syndrome have often clouded my vision. But just like when you’re caught in a storm, the focus isn’t on giving up; it’s about navigating through the storm in a way that allows you to emerge more confident and aligned with a grander vision for yourself.

I am most proud of how I’ve overcome obstacles by viewing them as opportunities for growth rather than setbacks. The journey has been replete with lessons, the most crucial of which is resilience. Resilience isn’t just about weathering the storm but learning how to dance in the rain. It’s about understanding that trials aren’t stop signs; they’re guidelines. How I’ve overcome challenges is by staying committed to my vision and surrounding myself with a circle of trust—people who remind me why I started and how far I’ve come.

What I want the world to know about my brand and story is that it’s an open book of realness, learning, and empowerment. I’m here not just to create a successful business but to set an example that aligning with your life’s purpose is not just a catchphrase—it’s a fulfilling and achievable way of life. My brand is a testament to the transformative power of staying true to who you are and what you are called to do. And my message to the world is this: challenges are inevitable, but when you’re aligned with your purpose and bolstered by self-awareness, you have the tools you need not just to navigate the storm, but to chart a course toward a horizon filled with untold possibilities.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my European friends were visiting, the itinerary would definitely depend on their interests and preferences. However, if it were solely up to me, I’d aim to provide an experience that encapsulates the diversity and dynamism of the area, coupled with the sort of spontaneity that turns any outing into an adventure.

We’d kick off our week with a nature escapade. Depending on the level of challenge we’re up for, we might opt for an easy hike either at the “Stairway to Heaven” or Popolopen Torne. Both offer their own special terrain and views, and are a great way to immerse ourselves in nature right from the start. After a morning of hiking, we’d recharge with a casual meal before heading to Hoboken. The waterfront here is unparalleled for its views of the NYC skyline, making for an idyllic afternoon stroll. We’d grab a cup of coffee at a café nearby, just taking in the scenery and catching up.

Our NYC day would be one of the highlights. Rather than stick to a rigid plan, I’d propose a “walk-and-discover” approach. We’d start our journey on the Upper East Side and meander our way down to Battery Park. Along the route, we’d be spontaneous, popping into inviting coffee shops, eclectic boutiques, or whatever strikes our fancy. Maybe we’d even stumble upon a street performance or art exhibit. The idea would be to absorb the city’s diverse tapestry by being part of it, even if it’s just for a day. And of course, this would all be interspersed with visits to cozy restaurants for some authentic New York cuisine.

The whole week would be a blend of planned destinations and spontaneous detours, ensuring that we both get the best out of the experience. From the serenity of nature to the hustle and bustle of city life, this trip would offer a full spectrum of experiences, tailored to embrace the vibe of the area while also leaving room for unplanned adventures.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
In the tapestry of life, we’re shaped and colored by countless threads of influence. But some threads are weightier, anchoring us even when the winds of uncertainty howl. For me, those anchors have always been my parents, Vangjush and Rozmari. Their love, as vast and immeasurable as the universe itself, is the solid ground I stand on. They’ve shown me the kind of courage and resilience that doesn’t make headlines but quietly turns the wheel of the world. It’s through their willingness to face life’s challenges head-on that I’ve learned to cultivate my own strength and courage.

Then there’s my brother, Sotir—my most unwavering supporter, the one who has been by my side like a lighthouse in a storm. His sacrifices have often been silent, yet immense, providing me with the fertile soil to grow my own dreams. Every victory of mine is a mirror reflecting his constant encouragement and the invaluable emotional and practical support he’s lent me over the years.

And how could I forget my husband, Eric? He’s like the horizon that keeps expanding, inviting me to stretch my boundaries and explore new vistas. Under his influence, my life has ventured into exciting, unknown territories, especially in the entrepreneurial landscape. With Eric’s encouragement, I’ve tackled life’s challenges with a level of self-assurance and determination that I never knew I had. All these incredible people have not just shaped me; they’ve helped me shape a world where I dare to dream bigger, aim higher, and love deeper.

So the biggest shoutout goes to them, the ones that I’ve been so blessed to have in this lifetime.
