We had the good fortune of connecting with Irene Garcia and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Irene, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
I have learned to never underestimate someone´s capabilities. It is amazing what happens when a person is determined and committed to working hard. Talent is a beautiful thing, but hard work and grit are two incredibly powerful qualities that a lot of times can be stronger influencers in a person´s professional growth and success.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am a Vocal Coach and feel absolutely grateful to do what I do every day. I work with all kinds of singers and other voice professionals. I help them get their voices in shape and give them a better chance to handle their vocally demanding work in a more effective and less taxing way. My clientele ranges from seasoned artists, young singers, and adults who are just discovering their voices, to voice-over actors and actors. I am very proud to be Latin American and have the chance to work with my community in this country. I love being able to offer my services in both English and Spanish.

Vocal Coaching came to me in the most unexpected way. I started this incredible journey of learning how to teach and work with different voices with my Mentor, Master Educator and Singer, Kevyn Lettau to whom I am eternally grateful. I had just graduated from The Los Angeles Music Academy, now known as the Los Angeles College of Music when Kevyn took me under her wing and trained me for several more years. Her guidance and support changed my life in so many different ways. I have around 5000 hours of teacher training with her. This gave me an incredible foundation for how I´ve worked for almost 20 years with singers and other voice professionals in the Music Industry in Los Angeles, now here in Denver and other cities in the United States as well as in Europe and Latin America.

Working with artists in Denver these past years has been a joy. This city has so much to offer artistically. Also, the venues here are very cool and eclectic. They always provide a unique experience.

Word of mouth has definitely been an element that has helped my business grow the most. A happy client is one of the ultimate compliments. I am always grateful for those referrals.

In this business I have learned to be patient and consistent, to practice perseverance, and to always stay open to learning more about the voice and everything connected to it. Seeing my clients discover new things and feeling empowered with their instrument is always a reminder of why I genuinely love this work.

To my Husband and my beautiful kids who are my engine and my rock. My Mom, who has always supported my love for music. To my Mentors: Sare Del Pozo who gave me the gift of music as I was growing up, and Kevyn Lettau who saw something in me I hadn´t even discovered yet and trained me so arduously in this path of helping others with their vocal journey.
