Meet Jada Anastasia | Founder of Just Jada Skincare

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jada Anastasia and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jada, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Anyone close to me would tell you I’m a natural rebel/certified risk taker. Taking risks has never seemed like a risk to me. In fact, not taking a chance usually seems like more of a risk. I’m a ‘go with your gut’ type of woman. I trust myself and my instincts and, usually, I’m content with the results. When I decided to launch Just Jada, I set the date for April 2020. The world was in chaos and we had just entered a major phase in the COVID-19 pandemic. Businesses were closing, people were out of jobs and the economy was suffering. I had to weigh my options & & decide if I wanted to risk launching my company during a time when skincare was probably the last thing on anyone’s mind. True to form, I did it anyway. Thankfully, my business has not only survived, but it has thrived. I’m 38 years old and I have accomplished & experienced so much because I simply took a chance. Granted, I do think about the pros and cons of any situation, but sometimes I just go with my gut. It’s said often, but remains true; no risk, no reward.

business, can you tell us more?
Just Jada is an all-natural & organic skincare brand. I began conceptualizing it in 2008 while studying at the Aveda Institute in Tallahassee, Florida to become a licensed esthetician. Once I graduated, I began experimenting with different plant-based oils and natural ingredients creating my own, distinctive formulations. I developed a serious aversion for synthetic & chemically-engineered products and fragrances. At that time, a lot of the products on the market that were labeled natural were not natural, but simply contained natural elements. I also realized the products that were natural had an unreasonable price point that wouldn’t make them accessible to many. Just Jada was designed to address quality, efficiency & affordability.

I absolutely LOVE what I do. It took years of planning and it wasn’t an easy road. There was a lot of trial and error, learning on the fly and moments where I wanted to give up. In the first year of business, I ran into a major trademark issue and had to completely rebrand and start over. It was a devastating blow financially and emotionally. I didn’t let up. I chose and every day I continue to choose to keep going because I believe in my products and I trust the journey. Success is inevitable if you just keep pushing. Just Jada is now trademarked and this April, we will be celebrating 3 years in business. I am so proud and beyond grateful that I have been able to pair my passion with purpose.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The week would be filled with relaxation and lots of food. I would recommend a stay at the Slate Hotel. It’s a super cool boutique hotel by Hilton. We would definitely check out the Denver Botanic Gardens & the Denver Art Museum. Of course no trip is complete without tacos. Cantina Loca is a favorite. Good food, good music and god drinks. Nocturne is a must for live jazz and signature cocktails. It has a vintage and laid-back vibe.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The road to Just Jada was long, filled with bumps and challenges. Without God and the constant support from my loving family, my amazing team and my loyal Just Jada tribe, I wouldn’t be where I am today. A very special shoutout to my two wonderful, hilarious, kind and just phenomenal tiny humans Harper & Asher. My daughters are the reason behind much of what I do. They inspire me to be great. I want them to be proud of me and to look at me and know anything is possible if you put in the work and stick with it. Harper & Asher, mommy loves you so stinking much!
