We had the good fortune of connecting with Jason Reschka and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jason, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor of my success is the love and effort put in each and every day. If I needed a word to describe it all, I would say it is “Love”. I have to love what I do, without compromise. It is the only thing that fulfills and drives me forward in life.
In the past I had worked in sales for some not so savory corporations that would kill my soul for a quick buck. It was always about what I was doing for them lately, and if I didn’t make their monthly quota, my livelihood would be threatened. This caused constant stress and was no way to live your life. In that situation, there was no work life balance. Any break that was offered, would be filled with constant worry about work. Imagine having to end work on Friday, then be stressed that you have to do it all over again on Monday. It was miserable.
This is why I won’t compromise. My drive comes from living my life the way that I want to. There is no work life balance, because my work is integrated with the life that I want. My friendships are now based on collaboration and projects that move us forward.
Currently I run my own consulting company called, Mountain Coast Adventure LLC. Here I am able to combine and build on my Marketing education, SEO background, and Expert Photography skills. My “focus” is on businesses in the Cannabis, Music, and Wedding Space. My success is driven by the love that I have for these areas of focus, as well as the response I get from doing what I love!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
It took me a while to realize the art that I could produce for the world, as well as for myself. My challenges are what drove me to put myself out there and move forward in life. My art is ever changing based on the new things that I learn each and every day. My main focus lately has been improving my skills in Photography. I found that I have a knack for creating the best quality photos for personal and business application. My drive comes from the response of the people that I encounter along the way. Recently, I went to an alternative rock concert where I had the privilege to shoot some amazing artists. The response of love from everyone involved moved me forward and allowed me propel to the next step. I’ve always believed that everything is possible, you just have to love what you are doing and the rest is easy. I always ask myself if what i’m doing is fullfilling to me, and I take action. Doing my best with this perspective is all i’ve ever needed to feel successful.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
It is very easy to share my love and experience for the place that I live. My best friend comes out to Colorado 2-4 times a year, and we always try to do something different each time. There is no way to do it all in one trip, hell, even in 5 trips. Usually we try to pack our week with a combination of collaboration and unique destination. We are big music fans, so we try to find as many shows as possible to go to within our limited time together. Red Rocks was a big event for us, as there are not always shows when he is in town. Mostly, we just go about the town of Boulder on Pearl Street, pick a unique bar for food and drink, and make our plans from there.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My marketing/business mentor comes to mind. His name is Brian DiSabatino of Delaware. He owns/runs a construction management company with his family in Wilmington, Delaware. He was the first person to give me a start in marketing and has been a family friend for decades. Throughout the years, I have always been able to reach out to him for advice on business, life, and everything in between.
