We had the good fortune of connecting with Jazilyne Houston and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jazilyne, how do you think about risk?
Risk taking is something I rarely do but so far when I have done it, it has always benefited me in the long run. You miss all the shots you do not take is by far the biggest cliche in the world but, is the absolute truth.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I believe what sets me apart from others in my art and modeling is that I am usually considered the underdog and the few that realize my potential see my great versatility and attention to detail.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Ohh let’s see! I would say the very first step, if you partake of course, is going to the dispensary and getting your allowed tourist amount of the best bud. the place has. I would then have lunch at my favorite asian cuisine spot, Little Ginko. They have a chili oil and fish soup that is killer! I then would suggest walking along East Colfax and seeing the bar strip we have to offer. My personal favorite bar is Kinga’s Lounge, it is a woman owned Polish bar that serves authentic Polish cuisine along side American sports bar hospitality. Best. Happy. Hour. Ever! Mountains are a must and I would recommend camping for most of the week to get the true sense of the beauty of Colorado.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to give a shoutout to every single person that has believed in me from the very beginning without underestimating me or discouraging me. People that I can think individually for helping my story start and flourish are the following: Mindy Delmez (@monamimindy), she is one of my primary photographers I have worked with from the beginning that helps me create most of my magic. She is a friendly soul and wonderful photographer in the Denver Area. Carina Shero (@unskinnyshero), She helped elevate my platform and gave me a shout out on her page after a night of mentoring and shooting. She is the person I credit to the 600% growth I saw in my following in 2019. Valery Brennan (@valeriebrennan) She is someone that gave the the wonderful opportunity to work with her then clothing brand, Fiercely. She was the person whom introduced me to Voyage Denver and here we are today!
