We had the good fortune of connecting with Jenn Price and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jenn, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Taking risks can be incredibly scary. It took me a long time to face my fears and recognize that those fears were doing me a disservice. But life circumstances (a pandemic and loss of pay) combined with the realization that I may regret NOT trying to fulfill my dreams, gave me the gumption I needed to take the plunge. I often make decisions based on this single question alone, “Will I regret not doing this?” If the answer is yes, then the opportunity for personal growth has fallen into my lap, and it’s hard to not accept the challenge.

And the positives that come from jumping in with both feet most certainly outweigh the cons. If you think about it, we take risks in our everyday lives all the time: flying while afraid of turbulation, changing careers, or choosing to love another human being. There are many benefits to taking risks, but my personal favorite is the self-confidence that comes from taking action. When you learn new abilities, and have a sense of accomplishment doing it, it feels glorious!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I believe that what makes my craft unique is the amount of passion I have for what I do. Creatively is a great outlet for me; one that provides focus and energy and gives me purpose in life. Turning something intangible into something others can feel is a beautiful experience and one I feel very strongly about. My other great passion is people. I’m an extrovert who enjoys meeting and working with others. Being social creates new dynamics and generates ideas and inspiration. When I get to engage with other humans, I feel delighted and energized; I truly thrive! So, marrying the art of photography with the ability to work with people, well, that’s just the best of both worlds!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Denver is such a unique place with so much to offer. It would be hard to narrow down all the beauty that stems from this amazing city. But if I had a week to “show off” Denver, I would start off with my favorite restaurants and then tack on the best part of that neighborhood.

Mac Nation is a causal eatery, with a very eclectic, mountain town vibe. They serve, you guessed it, mac and cheese, which several different varieties named after different american states. But before you eat, you should hit up Mt. Falcon for a hike and breathtaking views of the mountains.

Union Station has been revived as a new transportation hub, filled with lounges and boutique shops, with tons of top-notch food choices, including Tavernetta and The Mercantile.

The RiNo Art District is a unique area of the city, with colorful art murals on the outside of industrial buildings, which is any photographers dream. And Barcelona is a hip and delicious lunch spot, with the perfect flavors and variety of tapas.

A few other great spots include: Washington Park (definitely eat at Uncle), Cheeseman Park (check out Blue Pan Pizza) and catching a Colorado Rockies game at Coors Field (Cherry Cricket has fabulous burgers).

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Do you every feel like you just need someone to hold your hand? To be your personal cheerleader? Without a doubt, I knew that’s what I needed. I have had the dream to do photography for a long time, but with a little guidance, reassurance and motivation from my mentor, I was able to spread my wings. Having a coach and mentor provided me with the confidence, inspiration and drive I needed to make my dreams a reality, and for that I will be forever grateful. Thank you Taylor Jones Photography for being my cheerleader every step of the way!
