We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennifer Fairweather and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jennifer, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
The greatest habit that has helped me succeed is follow-through. Your reputation provides for credibility. It can open new doors as well as close doors to new opportunities. It can be a relationship starter that creates a path toward building trust. So for me, it has always been important to do what I say I am going to do. That does not mean that obstacles don’t get in the way. But when they do, I ensure that anyone relying on me is updated promptly. The thing is, if you build a reputation of being reliable, people tend to give you grace when things go awry because they understand that is not who you are. Along with this habit is a caution to not overcommit to things that will be a struggle or burden to accomplish. This is where the habit of being reliable can interfere with work life integration. So a sense of realism and boundaries are needed to make this habit work within your personal human needs.
