We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennifer Nagini and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jennifer, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
As a real estate agent, it is my job to make sure my clients are well taken care of and to help them to the best of my abilities. I listen to my client’s needs and do my best to accommodate them. I am providing an important service to the community, and because I care about my customers, I make sure the home buying or selling process goes as smoothly as possible.

As a candle maker and store owner of Illumination Candles, I am providing the community and society at large, high quality, hand crafted artisan candles.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
The thing that sets me apart from others is a unique angle for coming up with creative solutions to fill a need or want. I get really excited about candles and also is very enthusiastic for real estate, especially the architectural aspect of the business, along with the social factors, which understanding the latter are especially integral to being an exceptional real estate agent.

I got to where I am today through hard work, determination, ambition, self reliance, never failing optimism and a go getter positive attitude to meet every challenge head on in a tactful way.

It was not easy. There were many hard times. Lots of struggling. Many of the lessons I learned along the way are to be frugal with spending and make the most of a tight budget, along with not trusting anyone too fast. I learned the hard way that you cannot change a person, you can only change yourself and how you deal with a situation. When it comes to being an entrepreneur, you get out of it what you put into it. You are the product of your own success. We reap what we sow.

I want the world to know that my candle brand uses locally sourced beeswax, along with other types of wax, and the candles are made with care and offer something somewhat unique in the market.

I want people to know that when choosing me to serve as their representative in the home buying or selling process, I will be there for them, acting as their liaison, walking them through every step of the way and negotiating for them, so they can get the most for their time and money.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Golden is a lovely area to hang out and spend the day or evening. Clear creek runs right through downtown and is nice to walk along side. So many cute stores line the streets, along with excellent cuisine.

If you like pizza, I recommend Anthony’s Pizza & Pasta in Golden, or the Pie Hole in Denver.
For fried fish, then dining at GB’s Fish & Chips in Denver is pretty great, or Dirty Dogs Roadhouse in Golden.

The Denver Museum of Nature and Science is another favorite place of mine to visit. Especially the Prehistoric Journey exhibit.
If you like fossils, dinosaurs, learning about earth science, then you might enjoy this place.

The Botanic Gardens in Chatfield are lovely as well. Wide open spaces, lots of flowers and it’s so fun to enjoy.

The little town of Morrison is also a great place to visit. It’s right next to Red Rocks. Check out Red Rocks park too if you want to go for a walk or a bike ride. So many great places to eat there. Willy’s Wings and Mill Street Eats are awesome.

Feeling a bit more adventurous? Then perhaps drive out to Idaho Springs, a quaint little mountain town located along I-70.
Clear Creek runs through the town and is a great place for rafting. The Argo Mine is a real sight to see.
Downtown Idaho Springs has some great history too. Lots of old buildings and some lovely architecture.
If you are feeling like a craft beer, then visit Tommyknocker Brewery & Pub. That place is wonderful and enchanting.
If you like IPAs, then you might enjoy the Tommyknocker Blood Orange IPA. It is a real treat. If you want something thicker and darker, the Imperial Nut Brown is also a good choice. Heading out of town south, you can go check out Echo Lake, it’s a magical place. Another wonderful place is Saint Mary’s Glacier, located just northwest of Idaho Springs.

If you want to head further into the mountains, then nearby is Georgetown, another great place to visit.

Colorado has so many other great places around the state and I could go on and on about it. Perhaps another time!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to thank my father for teaching me good work ethic growing up, and how to persevere in the work place. He taught me how to stick to my standards, make sure to always get the job done and do an exceptional job at that.
He has been very supportive of my business endeavors and his approval has always been very important to me.

Thank you Dad.

Would also like to thank my mother for being encouraging and optimistic, especially through hard times.
She taught me how to be patient as well, which is very important.

Thank you Mom.
