We had the good fortune of connecting with Jenny Verrochi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jenny, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success is community. I never started Boot Tan Fest to make money, it was truly an event to celebrate women and femmes on snow and connect through vulnerability and fun. My team members are all carefully selected and are incredibly passionate and talented. When women come together, it feels like nothing is impossible and things just start to flow. Boot Tan Fest is now such a loveable event because everyone feels welcome, safe, and free to be themselves.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I started Boot Tan Fest somewhat inadvertently in 2021 after organizing a casual, ladies-only naked lap at Bluebird Backcountry near Kremmling. In 2022, it became a ticketed event welcoming 200 people for a ski day that concluded with a run in the buff. In 2023, the event grew to 450 people. After Bluebird closed its doors this past summer I wasn’t sure if the festival would stay alive. To my surprise, after scrambling to find a resort that would take us in, almost all replied with enthusiasm. My biggest challenge now is going from a scrappy festival in the backcountry to organizing a large event expecting up to 1500 women and femmes. I’m proud of how excited people get over this day. It excites me to create such a vibrant and passionate community around what I love most, which is snowboarding with friends while listening to live music and browsing local art made by women. I’m not sure how I got so lucky, but I am positive that this is my path in life and I am so happy it is. Running a business is never easy, but it’s always been worth the squeeze for me, especially when all my meetings consist of excitement, women, and all things skiing and fun.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If someone was visiting me in my hometown of Carbondale, the day would most likely start with chores at whatever horse ranch I’m working that day followed by some ski touring in the backcountry of Marble. We’d then Apres in the hot springs on the way home and cozy up by the fire in our little home we’ve been renovating.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to give a shout-out to one of my dearest friends Lisa Slage, founder of Wheelie Creative. She is one of the most creative people I know. She brings all my visions to life through photography, film, and mentorship. We base our meetings around fun and flow, and she inspires me to be a stronger leader, better friend, and thoughtful business owner.
