We had the good fortune of connecting with Jeremy Chun and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jeremy, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Quality Choice Electric, LLC is a dream come true. In the beginning, the biggest challenge about starting my own company was believing in myself. Before this, I have always worked for others. It was hard to step away from that daily routine and expectation of getting a paycheck from someone else. I had doubts and concerns if I could make it on my own but that was when I realized I had to step out of my comfort zone and try something new. I have worked in the electrical field for over 20 years, and I have completed many residential and commercial projects during my time. It is crucial to do a good job for your customers because they simply deserve quality work especially when it comes to their electrical needs. When I thought about creating my own business, I wanted to make sure that I provided great customer service and that each and every project that I completed was done exceptionally well- everything is up to code and properly labeled. I went through brainstorming sessions of “If I was a customer, what would I want to see from an electrical company?” I built my business around the goals of customer satisfaction and centered the work culture around prioritizing safety, positivity, and productivity.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My goal to provide quality electrical service to my customers drove me to where I am today. It is a service I know that I can deliver with care and expertise. We are a fully licensed and insured electrical contracting business. Services ranges from installing an outlet to service changes/upgrades. We can do residential new construction and remodel and commercial new construction and remodel as well. In addition, I would like to share that it is important to give back to the community that you are in. I am proud to be able to support local events and to be able to provide discounts to non-profit organizations of my choice.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There are three things that I love: Hunting, fishing, and eating. I would show them the best of Pueblo- fishing at the Arkansas River and Lake Pueblo State Park, grabbing a slopper at the iconic local restaurants (Sunset and Coors), and chatting it up some more as we get more food at the growing food truck scene in Pueblo (Check out the Food Truck Union events at Mineral Palace Park on Fridays and at City Park on Sundays!). There are also some awesome local coffee places like Solar Roast and The Sacred Bean that I would take them to. I also like to take friends to the Pueblo Riverwalk as well to walk around and chat.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Without the knowledge that my father showed me about the elevator industry, I would not have had the opportunity to start my journey as an electrician. I want to give Mark Nothnagel, owner of Rocky Mountain Elevator, a thank you for teaching me how to do an exceptional job in the workforce. I learned to pay great attention to details and to never walk away from a job without doing your best.
