We had the good fortune of connecting with Jerrica Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jerrica, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
As the saying goes “If you do something you love you’ll never work a day in your life”. I have a passion for doing hair especially locs.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Patience is the key to getting anywhere in life. Nothing in life come easy. Along the way I’ve learned many different method’s of how to maintain locs and well as style them. I named my business Growing Hands after being told by granny that’s what I have.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I recently moved to Colorado Springs therefore I haven’t been out and really explored. If I were to have a friend visit I would take them out to the Penny Arcade I recently visited that place and had a great time. Afterwards we may dine at Gunther Toody’s. Gunther’s is the first restaurant here I’d visit because I wanted something to eat not from home and I fell in love with that place.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to dedicate my shoutout to all the many people with locs, my daughter especially. Also my siblings and my mom for believing in me. I’ve been braiding hair since 4th grade. A friend of the family Penny sat me down and taught me. I’m thankful to her for that.
