We had the good fortune of connecting with Jess + Heather Lindsley + Bahlmann and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jess + Heather, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
“You are not a drop in the ocean. You are the entire ocean in a drop.” – Rumi

This quote speaks to the power + potential that lives within each of us. In the spaces Hey Birdie curates, we encourage one another to seek a deeper appreciation and love for themself. It also emphasizes the importance of being witnessed—of not healing and growing alone, but doing so in community.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets Hey Birdie apart is the intention behind everything we do. We’re not just creating spaces for women to connect; we’re curating experiences that invite them to bring their whole selves—messy, beautiful, and powerful. We’ve hosted environments where women are both celebrated and witnessed in their healing, their joy, and their growth. It’s the courage of the women who show up to honor themselves and each other that creates something truly magical.

We’re really f*(&^ing proud of the way our community continues to grow, not just in numbers but in depth. Seeing women leave our events with a sense of connection to themselves and to others is what lights us up! We’re most excited about the continued expansion of Flight Club into new cities as well as guiding our own bi-annual Migrations. These have become far more than just gatherings —our programming is evolving into a movement of women supporting each other through life’s most profound transitions.

Our journey has NOT been easy, but every challenge has been a chance to practice what we preach—vulnerability, curiosity, and resilience. We’ve learned that building something led by our soul takes time, and there’s a beauty in that slow growth. We didn’t arrive at this point by knowing all the answers, but by staying open to the process, staying curious, trusting our intuition, and having the willingness to ask for A LOT of help from the community around us.

One of the biggest challenges we’ve faced is learning how to navigate both our friendship and our business partnership. We approach things differently—whether it’s how we confront conflict or how we show up during stressful times. We’ve had to really check our egos at the door and be honest about where we’re at. Sometimes one of us has more time or energy to grind than the other, and we’ve learned to honor that instead of feeling guilty or frustrated or lost in comparison and even competition. There have been plenty of times when we didn’t know what the next step was, but we’ve leaned into the discomfort, trusted each other, and kept going. And every time we’ve hit a tough spot, either one of us would have a fresh perspective, or someone in our community would remind us why it’s all worth it.

We believe in the power of women supporting women, and there’s a bit revolution in remembering happening. Our spaces go beyond connection—they’re about transformation, finding your wings in community, and honoring your most authentic self. We’re also committed to growing by supporting other small businesses, giving back to our communities, and finding creative ways to reach and uplift girls earlier in life. We were never meant to fly solo, and in this flock, we rise together.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Our complete itinerary would have to includes activites and stops to capture the spirit of connection, nature, creative expression and some belly laughs!

Good food with good company is esssential, so we’d likely start off with a meal + treats at Just Be Kitchen. We would follow that up with a stroll in one of Denver’s amazing parks perhaps including some guided Bird Watching with Jane from @birdingwithjane, a stop by our fave metaphysical shop – Confia Collective and BONUS if Ignite Your Aura was popping up for an aura photo + interpretation.

Movement is also key – and nobody knows how to shake it better than Miss Monroe with some burlesque!
Our friend and muse, Sydney Zwicker, would also be a magical stop for some Sovereign Touch Bodywork and to round it off a cold plunge + breathwork at Kalo Fitness.

We’d likely end the evening with some star gazing and one of our fave pleasures, chocolate (especially from Moksha).

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We want to give a huge shoutout to all the brave women who said “yes” to this crazy idea of ours. The secret ingredient in the experiences we offer is their curiosity and courage—honoring their own journeys and trusting us to guide them through it. They are the heartbeat of Hey Birdie, and their willingness to show up for themselves and each other is the wind beneath our wings!

We also want to recognize our families, who continually support us in all the ways—from offering inspiration, acting as sounding boards, and being a source of healing and grounding. Without their love and support, none of this would be possible.
