We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Baird and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jessica, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Authenticity. I have been a part of different industries and communities and being my real authentic self at the end of the day is what has brought me success. Having an organic connection with another can save a reputation. We all have ebbs and flows in life. And we are bound to make a mistake or two. When you face a bump in the road, it’s a lot easier ask for forgiveness and come back from when you stay authentic to who you are and who they know. And those who may be witness to the situation may share the experience of how you educated or motivated them through your response.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
After 14 years in the beauty industry, owning a business and working a prestigious beauty brand achieving my goals. I was mentally drained. It was not exciting anymore. I took a backseat to regroup and it wasn’t easy. But I wanted to find an industry that I was passionate about to light my fire. And after sitting back for 3 years closely studying the cannabis industry, I started to feel that for reignite. I was ready to share my passion of educating cannabis consumers, using creative strategies and growing my own reputable community and network.
With experience in consulting with companies in a variety of industries, I started consulting with cannabis brands about: organic community growth, social media strategies & brand awareness through creative media.
In November 2023, I finally launched- The Highest: Community, a digital blog and community for cannabis users, advocates, professionals and companies to all raise the industry standards and grow an elevated community together..

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am not from Colorado. And am only familiar with Loveland, CO.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Joni Rae Russell. Joni Rae found my original beauty blog and guided me through the media side of the beauty industry. Spending 1 on 1 time with her in California and being mentored by her knowledge and experiences, completely changed my approach to life. It was always her inspiration that pushed me to keep going over the past 4 years.
She taught me that with honesty, a creative approach and enough tenacity- women can achieve anything we set our minds to!
