We had the good fortune of connecting with Joe Seehusen and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Joe, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
There are a lot of things that make me happy. I’ve been pretty lucky over my 43 years on this earth. I had a wonderful childhood growing up in Minnesota and have been doing my best to spread the Minnesota Nice vibes in Colorado since 2002. Everyday I still look up at the flatirons and get the chills and think how lucky I am to be here. One day, I hope to own a house on a hill that looks west, so I can enjoy sunsets over the flatirons. The happiest you’ll see me is when the lights go down just before my favorite band hits the stage and I’m there with my music family. We are so fortunate to have many great music venues in the area and musicians who love playing here. In the meantime, I get small doses of joy every time I’m vinyl record shopping and find something I’ve been searching for a long time. Overall, happiness to me is staying connected to people, staying healthy, laughing every chance I get, and keeping a smile on my wife’s face. Happy wife, happy life….right?
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Selling real estate isn’t as easy as some may assume. There are so many moving parts when selling a home and we need to be good at wearing so many different hats during a transaction. Kathryn and I work hard to stay on the right path and always learning and adapting to the ever changing market. Our success comes from communicating on a high level, with not only our clients, but with all sides of the transaction. Colorado Home Realty provide us with the absolute best marketing and support. It’s our goal to have people want to shout our names from the rooftop when the transaction is over. We only work by referral from people close to us, so keeping everyone happy is very important to us.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We have friends and family fly in all the time for vacations. Mostly, it’s to see a concert in the summer or the ski slopes in the winter. The real estate industry gives us the flexibility to be able to show anyone a good time while visiting. Depends if you want to hear the PG version or the rated R version of the vacation. We typically find ourselves in Olde Town Arvada, enjoying all our community has to offer, before heading to a show at Red Rocks Amphitheater (PG version).
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Those that know me well, know that sometimes I need a little extra encouragement or convincing. Growing up the youngest of 4 siblings, I had the smooth path blazed for me through high school, and have the best parents on earth. College in downtown Minneapolis taught me how to live on my own and think for myself. Since moving to Colorado, I have been a sponge when it comes to learning from others in my community. I grew to appreciate the small things in life. I held a few jobs in different industries, so I could find the right successful career path that made me happy, and made me the person I am today. My parents always said I would be a great Realtor because I have a knack for keeping a lot of good friends around me. So when my wild child lifestyle eventually started slowing down, me and my now wife, Kathryn, became Realtors. It’s an industry where you’re always learning and being challenged in the most interesting ways. It’s very rewarding helping people the way we do. I see us doing it for a long time.
