We had the good fortune of connecting with Johanna Voss and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Johanna, what do you attribute your success to?
One of the most important factors in my success is consistency. I’ve consistently shown up online daily, for years, on my newsletter & on socials, even when it seemed like no one was listening or watching. Of course, at the very beginning when I was just getting going, my following was much smaller so not many people were in my community. Yet every step of the way when I started or launched something new or started again, I kept showing up. It’s so easy (and tempting!) to just stop because you think, why bother? Who is listening? Trust me when I saw people are always watching so keep showing up!

One of the things that has kept me to keep showing up, which has also simultaneously helped to grow my brand and establish myself is being super open and sharing what I’m doing, obstacles I’m having, problems I’m working thru and what I’m experiencing in real time. It’s made me very relatable and interesting to others. So that gets people tuning in.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets me apart from other Influencer Talent Managers is that I have built my own brand, establishing who my agency and I are, not just helping my talent build theirs. I do a lot of education on social media, linkedin and with content on my website. I use my platform to lift up others, to hype up my own talent, shine a spotlight on their partnerships and pull back the curtain as much as I can on my world and work.

I’m quite publicly transparent, open and helpful to others coming up in this industry which is one of the things I know sets me apart from other Talent Managers. My agency roster and I are quite close – we’ve done annual retreats, we have our monthly agency zoom calls and chat all the time. Collectively we have so much knowledge and insight amongst all of us, which everyone is very open to sharing with the others in my agency.

I’m very committed to supporting diverse influencers & content creators from all walks of life and backgrounds.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My friends & family deserve my shoutout. They’ve been a constant source of encouragement and motivation, cheering me on loudly from the sidelines when I needed it, or quietly walking next to me with encouraging texts, notes or messages. Couldn’t nor wouldn’t be here without them. Love them all to pieces!
