We had the good fortune of connecting with Johnny Singels and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Johnny, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Ever since I was young I knew I wanted to do something different. Had dreams of being a couple different things but they all involved creating.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
After moving back to Colorado, I attended Pikes Peak Community College for Mutlimedia Graphic Design. Initially I chose the program hoping to learn more about video production. My family and peers thought I had a natural gift for videography when I was growing up. Graphic design ended up being the main focus of the degree however and I met my good friend and owner of G7 Media, Henry Gilmore IV. He was starting his brand at the time and I ended up being his graphic designer. Over the next 6 years I learned a lot and progressed as an artist and person. Pressure makes diamonds they say and I am beyond grateful for the journey that lead me to the place I’m in today. The good, the bad and the ugly days were all worth it. This year I started my own business and do freelance graphic design and videography full time.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
A week feels too short but I would say check out Water World, go to a concert at Red Rocks, grab a burger from Skirted Heifer, and skate Denver Skatepark!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shout out to all of the people I love, my friends and family are the reason I am here today.
