Meet Jonny Feld | CEO of Field Van

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jonny Feld and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jonny, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind the success of the Field Van brand is the belief in our product. The passion we have for our van builds and the importance we place on quality is reflected in our brand image. When you believe in the product and the team behind the product it makes it easy to convey an image of a strong brand. We also live the lifestyle we promote and have fun with it. Camping on the weekends with family or taking an epic road trip with friends is what the Field Van brand is all about.

What should our readers know about your business?
Field Van is the premier builder of van campers and adventure vans. Our quality craftsmanship, superior designs and customer service set us apart from others in our industry. Over the last 30 years I have worked in and around the family business of building vans. For the last 20 years I have been full time at the factory in Fresno, CA and now operate as CEO of Field Van. We have over 80 employees and take pride in our tight nit family business. It is never easy! It would be great for things to be easier but overcoming challenges can be extra rewarding when running a successful business. Creativity and persistence have been keys to overcoming challenges. I will use any helpful resource available to navigate through making tough decisions. I have learned that building a good team comprised of individuals with varying talents and strengths can overcome most anything when collaborating together. I want to the world to know that everyone should try camping in a van! There is so much to see and there is no better way to experience traveling the world than in a Field Van.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Fresno, CA is a gem of a place to live despite its reputation. While there are over 500,000 people it has more of a small town feel. Located directly in the middle of California’s Central Valley the fresh fruit, vegetables, and overall farm to table experience is great from a dining prospective. Fresno has many family restaurants and breweries and the weather is great outside of July and August when it gets pretty hot. The golfing here is also great almost year round with plenty of courses to play. If I had a friend coming to visit we would definitely jump in a van and do some exploring around the local areas. Within an hour drive we can be in Yosemite, Sequoia or Kings Canyon National Park. We would also take a short drive to one of the many lakes in the Sierra Nevada Mountains nearby for some fishing, hiking and mountain biking.

To my parents who paved the way for our success with their hard work and love.
