Meet Jordan Chambers | Photographer and videographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jordan Chambers and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jordan, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Well, the passion for creation has always existed in me. Since I was a kid I wanted to create content that was just as good as the things that had entertained me for so many years. Making a living doing what you love and creating things that you cherish gives you a higher sense of being, at least in my opinion. I remember as a child I’d see people so upset or sometimes unfulfilled and I always had a sort of fear of feeling the same way. I simply bought my first camera following an emotionally taxing breakup (was cheated on, and used our saved vacation money to fund my equipment) and just began building a portfolio from there. It was a passionate and extremely emotionally driven start, but wouldn’t have it any other way.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As a photographer for over 10 years now, I have to say it isn’t an easy process. Achieving any level of recognition is similar to being deserted on an island and throwing out a message in a bottle, into a sea of OTHER people’s bottles in hopes of having your bottle picked up and read. I pride myself on being able to have experienced many opportunities over the years. Some have been through lucky circumstances, others have been through my own genuine pursuit. But I believe whole-heartedly it’s worth doing. My biggest accomplishments have been the real and true happiness I’ve seen in clients faces when their child is captured in a frame or portrait exactly the way they had envisioned. I’ve done bigger works, countless wedding, galas, and personally photography for up and coming modeling candidates. However, it doesn’t beat the joy of families who are just so passionate and loving about what they’ve built, and being able to capture that on an SD card seems so minimal. But it means so much to me overall. And it truly always will.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
As a non-Colorado native, I can give you my favorite spots on my frequent visits to Boulder. Specifically the ramen game is among the best in the country, as I’ve sampled it far and wide. In my pursuit of picturesque photography, the pathway up the side of mount Evans is a pristine and beautiful example of the true form that nature presents us on a regular basis. My love of the winding hills and vast mountains that stretch up into the sky and co-mingle with the swirl of the clouds is a frequent subject for my work. Lastly, a quick trip to the Denver Cat Company to sit with some feline friends and relax. As an animal lover, this spot was very precious to me and became a frequent visit with my girlfriend most summers.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I dedicate my shoutout to Arielle Gonzales, an amazing lifelong friend who gave me my first job shooting for the Make-a-Wish foundation. Thank you for the opportunity that propelled my career forward.
