We had the good fortune of connecting with Juliet Root and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Juliet, how do you think about risk?
Someone asked me recently “Do you initiate leaving a relationship or situation first or do you wait for the other person or situation to end it?” My answer is that I have always been the one to initiate walking away from something, even when it is the hardest thing I have had to do. There’s a huge risk in leaving something to start a new. It feels scary and uncertain when you move away from the familiar and walk towards the unknown. But in my experience the only way I have achieved exponential growth and success is through this process. I recently moved across the country and sold my business of 11 years to pursue a new dream. We aren’t meant to stay stuck out of fear, in fact the fear is the call to action to act brave and develop even more courage and strength than you ever thought possible.
What should our readers know about your business?
My Richual is a women’s wellness brand located in Boulder Colorado that creates community and connection through transformational experiences. We host live events, workshops and retreats with renowned practitioners in the Boulder/Denver area. Mental health matters and we are passionate about redefining what it means to feel mentally well.
There’s so much heaviness in the world and although we acknowledge that My Richual wants to bring levity and lightness to the mental health space. My business partner Amanda and I wanted to create something that we both desperately needed.
A place where excitement and transformation co exist and a community where we could not only be ourselves, but we could create deep connections and most importantly have fun while taking care of our mental health.
We are most excited about the impact this company can make on the health and well being of women.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My perfect day here in Boulder to share with my friends and loved ones would be a morning hike at Eldorado Canyon, followed by lunch at Fresh Thymes Eatery. We would then take a stroll down pearl street and hit up Wunder Press for some amazing green juice. That evening we would go to the roof deck at Avanti to watch the sunset over the mountains and have drinks, followed by an amazing dinner at Oak On Fourteenth.
Other places we would definitely have to go that week would be: A hike up Sanitas, food and drinks at Rosetta hall and a sunset picnic at my favorite overlook called Realization point.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I attribute a lot of my success to the personal development work I have been involved with since my early 20’s. Many seminars, therapists, coaches and books have motivated me and supported me throughout my career.
