Meet Justin Douthat | Owner of Colorado Springs Pressure Washing, LLC

We had the good fortune of connecting with Justin Douthat and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Justin, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
It was simply the right thing to do. As a former ship’s officer and first class maritime pilot, I had spent my time in various waters around the world navigating and operating ships. It was a very exciting and challenging career, however, while working out at sea for months on end the time away from home grew old quickly. As the months and years went by I began to value relationships more and re-evaluated my priorities in life. Living in Colorado i quickly learned that my maritime resume was of little value in securing a new career in our land locked state. As the months of job searching went by my options became clear. Move, go back to school, start a business, or take a job with less opportunities for leadership, advancement and growth. Out of this, Colorado Springs Pressure Washing, LLC was born.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We pressure wash things, it’s really quite simple. So what sets us apart? When entering into the exterior cleaning industry I started by marketing myself only to residential clients and offering services such as driveway cleaning and house washing. I quickly learned that I was up against a lot of competition in this area. Many companies can offer these services, but not many can power wash a parking garage full of grease and oil overnight all while remaining EPA compliant. It’s our capabilities and expertise along with our friendly, timely and professional service that sets us apart. No job is too big or too small. From a small back patio to a multilevel office complex, we can clean it all.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I went from a stable well paying career as a ship’s officer to draining my savings and staring a pressure washing business in Colorado Springs. My wife Becca deserves far more than just a shoutout for being by my side and supportive through it all.
