We had the good fortune of connecting with Justin Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Justin, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Jordan, a second-generation glass artist, began by helping run classes in her mom’s studio. She traveled ten days a month to the Alabama studio to give a helping hand. With this, we quickly considered other ways for Jordan to fill her time during the other 20 days a month and started teaching classes part-time while partnering with a local stained glass studio.
Within a few months, we received outstanding support from the Colorado Springs community and decided to pursue doing it full-time in Colorado.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Stained glass rivals many other mediums as one of the oldest art forms. We are dedicated to preserving, cherishing, and bringing modern design features to an age-old medium.
We were blessed to have fantastic mentors who taught us the hands-on aspects. One of the biggest challenges was building a business around this art form. Even though we love the medium, turning that into a profitable business was not always the easiest path. It took pivoting and many hours in front of a spreadsheet.
We’ve been beyond blessed to have built an incredible team of teachers.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Where do we begin? So many along our journey have opened the doors to knowledge, opportunity, and success. From Jordan’s mom, Julie Gill, with Big Glass Art for seeding our passion to John and Linda with Transforming Creatives, for giving us the place to grow and find ourselves, we’ve had so many along the way to support, nurture and guide us to where we are today.
