We had the good fortune of connecting with Kaede Yero and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kaede, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my brand’s success; audience engagement. My audience is my reason why. I enjoy answering questions, getting feedback, and engaging with my audience. It makes my work more meaningful. To know that people are as excited about your work as the creator; keeps my creative juices flowing. My audience also acts as my brainstorming team for new ideas. Knowing what they are interested in helps to keep the content I create fun and on target for my audience.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love
for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is writing and film. I have spent the last five years traveling around America documenting Black History. At times traveling cross country can seem grueling but the work makes it worthwhile. My brand, Black History Travel, is now at the beginning of its ascent to being an authority in my niche. It seems like after years of hard work and determination; the doors are finally opening. So look out for us on a television channel near you!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I really enjoy hot springs! So first we’re going to Durango Hot Springs and Spa! After we’ve relaxed our bodies and minds food is our next stop. Durango has so many great restaurants such as The Bird and Nayarit. If it was winter definitely going to Purgatory to enjoy some skiing, snowboarding, or tubing.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
This is dedicated to every history teacher that inspired me to continue to follow my passions. I also had an English professor who helped me a good deal to cultivate my creative writing.
