We had the good fortune of connecting with Katerina Rothman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Katerina, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I was inspired by my mother who was always into sewing, fabrics, and knitting, so I always wanted to continue her legacy and that’s how I started Beflax Linen—a natural linen shop with a focus on home goods. I quickly realized after becoming a mother myself, the combination of natural, sustainable living in all its forms is a formula for success, not only in business, but also in life. Therefore sustainable aspect was very important to me while choosing a niche in home goods field. Choosing After researching various fabrics and their production methods, Linen was the obvious choice!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The success path is certainly still in it’s developing phase 🙂 I accumulate new customers every day and spread the word about my company and our sustainable mission to provide natural affordable linen for all American families! That’s the biggest difference between my brand and any other on US market – we take a bigger cut, so our customers can have better sleep today. In addition, we constantly research additional methods of bringing nature close to you. There are still a lot of challenges to overcome, and we are working hard on that. One of which is building a name for ourselves. While other established businesses in that field have much bigger advertising budgets, we need to be creative in order to compete with them on the same stage. The important part is that me and my team believe in what we are doing, and there is no hesitation my business is not only harmless to the environment but truly beneficial to our everyday life!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Volleyball. No doubt here, Surely Colorado is known for its beautiful hikes, but as a player myself, and a coach in the recent past – there would be no other activity I’ll take you to when you visit :)) Apart from sports, I love Larimer street – such a fun place to explore the best city gems in terms of retails, restaurants and just the whole vibe!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Becky Miller, owner of Modern Nomad Denver – a home collective. An amazing mentor, a lady with huge driving force and inspirational aura She gave me a chance 2 years ago and accepted my linens in her store! We’ve been working together since
