We had the good fortune of connecting with Katie Gianchiglia and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Katie, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
I am a constant list maker. On paper, on my phone, in my notes, in my planner. Everywhere. I love a to do list. Happy to say, this trait is inherited from my Grandpa. When he passed, we found SO many lists!

Building a brand, and having to be the person who creates, markets, photographs, ships, and manages stock-being organized was something I am so happy to say I brought into Cut By Katie. I don’t know if I would have survived year one without checking each box!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have been a Nanny since I was 17 years old. I have never worked a corporate job. I have always found myself intertwined into the wonderful families I’ve worked for. I am blessed to be able to run my business daily. Learning to juggle my time was hard, but always worth it in the end. It has been a blessing to have the most amazing people as my cheerleaders.

Cut By Katie started in the school pick up line when I realized I had the need to be creative, and had some time to kill. My boyfriend bought me a cricut for my birthday and told me to, “sell one towel”. I have sold numerous tea towels, and I even made him one for Christmas last year!

It was an idea that was scary, and overwhelming. It became something out of nothing, and the rollercoaster ride is always at a new peak!
