Meet Katie Heller Heidi Kullman | Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Katie Heller Heidi Kullman and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Katie Heller, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
We’re two moms who were simply looking for something different and fun to do with our kids. We were tired of the same old activities and wanted to bring something unique, lighthearted, and engaging to the community — something that blended joy, movement, and the outdoors. That’s how Arvada Goat Yoga was born.
We loved the idea of combining time in nature with the benefits of movement, and of course, adding goats made it all the more memorable! It started as a fun idea to get families, friends, and neighbors doing something playful and stress-free — and it’s grown into a way to connect people through laughter, wellness, and shared experiences.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
At Arvada Goat Yoga, we’ve created a space where relaxation, movement, and pure joy come together in the most unexpected way — with goats. Our mission is to offer a one-of-a-kind experience that blends the calming benefits of yoga with the playful, stress-relieving energy of goats, all in a beautiful outdoor setting. Whether you’re an experienced yogi or just looking for something lighthearted and fun, our sessions are designed to welcome everyone.
What truly sets us apart is our focus on creating an experience — not just a class. We’re proud to offer something that brings laughter, connection, and nature into people’s lives in a way that feels both therapeutic and totally unique. The goats are, of course, the stars of the show. Their curious, affectionate personalities add something really special to every session — whether they’re hopping on a mat, snuggling into a pose, or just making people laugh.
We started this journey as two moms looking for something different to do with our kids — something that felt meaningful, fun, and connected to the outdoors. We were tired of the same routine activities and wanted to create something fresh for our community. It wasn’t always easy — like any small business, there were moments of uncertainty and learning curves. Finding the right farm partners, managing unpredictable weather, navigating logistics, and building something from the ground up took time, grit, and a lot of flexibility (and not just on the yoga mat). But every smile, every laugh, and every returning guest reminds us why we do this.
One of the biggest lessons we’ve learned along the way is to stay true to what lights you up. Goat yoga may sound a little outside the box — and it is — but that’s exactly what makes it powerful. People come for the novelty and leave feeling lighter, more connected, and less stressed. That’s something we’re really proud of.
What we want the world to know is that Arvada Goat Yoga isn’t just a trendy idea — it’s about building community, encouraging wellness, and offering a moment of joy in the middle of life’s chaos. We believe in the healing power of nature, movement, and laughter — and we’re honored to share that with everyone who comes to our sessions.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When a best friend comes to town, we go all in on showing them the best of Arvada and beyond — local gems, scenic adventures, and a healthy mix of tacos, coffee, and Colorado magic.
We’d kick off the trip with a coffee at Red Silo — not only because they make a great latte, but it’s where most of our “business meetings” happen (aka catching up and brainstorming with caffeine in hand). From there, we’d stroll over to Olde Town Arvada to explore the farmers market, check out the local shops, and soak in the small-town charm.
Once we’ve worked up an appetite, it’s off to Lady Nomada for Palomas and tacos — one of our go-to spots for fresh flavors and good vibes.
Midweek, we’d take a little getaway to one of our absolute favorite places: Mount Princeton Hot Springs. We’d stop in Buena Vista to browse the shops and grab lunch, then spend the afternoon soaking in the hot springs surrounded by mountain views. It’s the perfect way to unwind and enjoy the natural beauty of Colorado.
No trip would be complete without a concert at Red Rocks Amphitheatre — hands down the most iconic and unforgettable venue. Live music under the stars in that setting is truly a must-experience.
For a peaceful end to the week, we’d take the paddle boards out to Bear Creek Lake. It’s our favorite spot for a relaxed evening float — we pack a picnic on the boards, paddle out with friends, and watch the sun set over the water. It’s simple, peaceful, and the perfect way to cap off a week of adventure.
From laid-back local spots to unforgettable mountain views, this itinerary is all about balance: a little movement, a little relaxation, and a whole lot of Colorado charm.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We’re big believers in the power of community, and Arvada Goat Yoga wouldn’t be here without the incredible local partners who help make what we do possible.
The Community Farm – One of our very first farm partners. They’ve been with us since the beginning, and we’ve loved working closely with them to kick off successful seasons year after year.
Finding Nectar Nursery – A newer partner we’re thrilled to be working with. This is a fantastic organization, and collaborating with them has been such a great experience.
LUKI Brewery – Our trusted partner for Goat Yoga & Brews. These sessions are always a crowd favorite, and the LUKI team is a pleasure to work with every time.
Thank you to each of these partners for being a part of our journey.
