We had the good fortune of connecting with Kendall Conn and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kendall, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I was tired of swing shirt listed for ridiculous prices everywhere you looked. Along with how the fashion industry treats plus size people making us pay a fat tax. I refuse to have a fat tax in my company. I’ve personally will pay the money to get the extra size so my customers can have a wonderful experience. I don’t think anyone should be penalized for the size they are. I think they should be able to get the same shirt that a size small person can get and a double X or larger for the same price. I started the kids online because I am a preschool teacher and kids inspire me every single day some of the designs that I have coming out hard inspired from my class in Steamboat Springs.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
This adventure has truly been derived from the necessity for style. I would walk into the department stores and my biggest struggle wasn’t finding my size, even if that is an insurmountable challenge sometimes, but staying awake! All the styles have gotten either bland or too over the top and direct with the graphic tees. That is where I decided to start making designs that are tasteful yet make you think about it, and the many ways an image can be interpreted is one of the joys in art and life itself. No two people will think exactly the same that’s what makes the human race so special.

That’s what makes me so excited about this business is it is driven solely by my creativity. I am not a musician, couldn’t play a guitar for my life, but I am creative and this is where I release that creativity. Seeing people enjoy my creativity as much as I do is what really lights that spark, it’s a true feeling of connection that the age of the internet promised us.

I just want the world to know that frozen Fire apparel is a one woman show with creative bespoke pieces that are packaged with love.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’d take them on hikes one in particular up and Fish Creek Falls in Steamboat Springs, and then we would go eat at bo Jo’s Colorado style, pizza and walk around downtown.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My fiancé Kevin has been a huge help and been so supportive in this whole process.
