We had the good fortune of connecting with Kris ‘KBOT’ Webster and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kris ‘KBOT’, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?

Growing up in Indianapolis, Indiana, I was surrounded by a community filled with entrepreneurial endeavors. My parents owned a Jazz record company, and many of the people I knew had side businesses, ranging from doctors’ offices to barbershops. I worked odd jobs in the neighborhood while excelling in school. Upon moving to Los Angeles after high school, I faced the high cost of living head-on. Despite having family in LA, I was determined to support myself. I worked my way through college and secured various jobs in Hollywood, including roles in law firms, publishing companies, record labels, and film studios. Despite the challenges posed by LA’s gatekeepers and standards, I remained committed to my passion for storytelling. This led to the creation of the Robot Puppet Show, which eventually became a successful business, surpassing my earnings in corporate America. This gave me time for self-care, travel and learning new skills.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

My journey has led me to niche markets of family event production across Los Angeles. Our events feature captivating experiences like our robot puppet show and the KBOT robot party DJ, along with custom STEAM programs in schools and libraries, offering a futuristic blend of education and entertainment.
Our latest venture involves pioneering a groundbreaking type of book – a multi-layered Ebook, audio book, and immersive VR storytelling experience. Within these virtual 3D spaces, we’ve crafted video game styled educational content, all wrapped up in an academic book titled ‘Building Wealth With Blockchain: A Conversational Path To Metaverse Prosperity,’ under our Alpha Rocket subsidiary. Our goal? To bridge the gap between reality and VR, bringing a taste of the metaverse to the masses. While we’ve picked up contracts with prominent tech and entertainment companies, the journey of independence has its hurdles. Marketing, particularly mastering social media attention, poses its challenges. Yet, through innovation and perseverance, we’re paving the way for a seamless integration of AR, VR, and real-life experiences, ensuring everyone gets a glimpse of what’s on the horizon at our Avatar Convention Center.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
That’s easy, if friends were coming to LA I’d refer them to the Getty Center, Venice Beach, Malibu (Pepperdine University) and the Santa Monica Pier. What I love about Los Angeles is that the whole world is here. The diversity makes life interesting learning other cultures.
