We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristina Eisenhower and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kristina, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
OMG, I have a long, deep and abiding love affair with with quotations! So, every single chapter in my book begins with a quotation from someone you know (or maybe someone you’ve never heard of). But there are so many that I’m sure we can all find some favorites that resonate with us on some level. Some of my favorites in my book include:
“You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.” ~ Buddha
“At the height of laughter, the universe is flung into a kaleidoscope of new possibilities.” ~Jean Houston
“I hope to arrive to my death, late, in love, and a little drunk.” ~ Atticus
“Your wig steers the gig.” ~Lord Buckley
These speak to me because they totally hurl us into new realms of thinking, doing and being! THAT’S what I call “The Art of Positive Disruption.”
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
This creative life is a bitch! Not because it slaps you around, but because it takes you for a ride that you never saw coming, or could’ve ever prepared for!
I’m a writer. I’ve written everything from personal correspondence to academic articles; from ad copy to colorful dips on how to live a creative life!
While all that has been wonderful, educational and inspirational, my latest venture in writing a full-fledged book that explicates my lived experiences in creating a kaleidoscopic life for myself has got to be the most exciting, inciting, and activating endeavor, ever!
I needed this book, but could’t find it anywhere out there, so I HAD TO write it for myself!
As I enter the publishing phase, all I can say is, “it takes a village.” It’s like buying local. So, please support your “local(ly) known author!
You won’t regret it! It gives you a true EXPERIENCE! So much more than what you get when you go into a bookstore to simply buy a book!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Ohhhh, this is easy, as this place (Colorado) is my HAPPY PLACE! I’d start with staying with me in Estes Park,CO, where you can literally step outside your front door and into the Rocky Mountain National Park! Hopefully, you’d like to to do some awesome hikes like: Bear Lake (easy), Emerald Lake (moderate) or Chasm Lake (hard)!
Of course when we come down from any place on the mountain, we can partake in the many diverse events that Estes Park is known for! It’s definitely my kind of “positive disruption,” and the best tribute to my book’s launching into this world
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
So many thanks to Sonya Shannon, Artist, for her incredible vision, mastery and execution of ALL THAT! There are plenty of others who deserve acknowledgements and accolades, but they are so numerous that I cannot begin to name them all here. However, it does not diminish my gratitude for them. It only serves to confirm the Issac Newton’s quote that says, “if I have seen further…it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.” Those Giants includes folks like Sonya Shannon, Tanya Geisler, Terri Trespicio, Laura Belgray, Marie Forleo, Pam Grout, Jennifer Louden, SARK, and Ash Ambirge!
