We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristine Posson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kristine, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?

I was a single mom making very little money with lots of student loan debt. I wanted to do something in my field but could not get hired unless i had experience. So i decided to start my own business. I went to the bank and got a loan and started my business as part time. Soon i got so busy with my part time job, i had to quit my full time job and my business expanded to where I had to hire people to help me. I paid my student loans back and expanded my business.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

I would take them on a motorcycle ride to horsetooth reservoir. It’s so beautiful up there year round. I would take them to eat at Henry’s in Loveland downtown. We would also stop at Matt’s place for some food or maybe a drink. We would also take a motorcycle trip up to Estes park. The shopping there is so fun. The ride up to Estes is amazing. My husband and i got married next to the river on the way up to Estes park. We have to stop for ice cream at dairy delite on the way home from Estes. Another great place to eat is casa real in Loveland. Bike night at thunder mountain is a blast with live bands.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?

My family supported me throughout the process. Watching my son when i needed help so i could work my job. Sometime i worked 60+ hours a week and needed help as a single mom.
