We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristy Vergo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kristy, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
The image, logo, and services to provide were all driven by meditative experiences. I am a Shamanic practitioner and able to get into an altered state to communicate with who I believe to be my guides, allies, and “spirit team.” Some may refer to this as their higher self. In this altered state I’ve been able to have access to information and messages that I may normally not be attuned to in my every day “waking life.” It’s an opportunity to be able to see issues, goals, relationships, and situations from a zoomed out, bird’s eye view perspective without ego getting into the way.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
After getting a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and immersing myself in the corporate world for 3 years, I realized that working in a traditional office setting just didn’t feel right to me. I knew pretty early on in my career (in my mid twenties) that my path was going to be different. I eventually decided to go back to school to get a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology, with the intent to open up my own business. There was a lot of financial, emotional, and time sacrifice that has gone into getting a master’s degree, getting supervision for years to get several different licenses, and starting my own businesses. Shortly after graduating from grad school, I was on my own spiritual quest. I grew up in a religious household, and considered myself spiritual but not religious. I was realizing that connecting to my own unique spirituality was something that I was really longing for. Over the course of the next decade, I immersed myself in workshops, psychic development, working with Tarot cards, meditation, and Shamanic practices. What started out as a path to healing and “coming home to myself” turned into a hobby for myself and to share with others. Eventually I came to the conclusion that it would be really cool to combine metaphysical tools with my coaching and therapy skills. I believe that there are many different paths to healing, and I strongly believe in the mind, body, and spirit connection. What I believe sets me apart from other coaches is both my therapeutic background and holistic approach. I know how to hold space for others and create safety, and I’m highly intuitive. I think these skills combined with less traditional (and I think fun!) approaches to solving problems allow my clients to feel like they get much more out of each session. They leave feeling more connected and empowered by life’s challenges, rather than discouraged and overwhelmed.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take my friend to all of the places that felt most meaningful to me. I would take them to Red Rocks for a concert, as it’s one of my most favorite places in the world because of the beauty, views, vibe, and acoustics. I’d also take a drive to Central City and stop by a spot on the creek on the way to take in the energy and relax by the water. I’d plan a day downtown to walk around and check out Union Station and have a drink in Cooper’s Lounge or at the Terminal Bar. At some point we would have to have a breakfast burrito at Santiago’s because of that amazing green chile. Meow Wolf would also be a must see – it’s so immersive, creative, and psychedelic that I could spend a couple days there taking in all of the little details! The rest of the time might be spent in one of the many local parks (Washington Park, Cheesman, Sloan’s lake) for walks, and checking out several patios for lunch or dinner.
