We had the good fortune of connecting with Kyle Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kyle, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The initial cannabis-infused gummy offerings in Colorado only included pectin-based gummies, or “fruit chews”. We felt that it was high-time someone produced a gummy that was based off the most popular gummies sold at grocery stores and convenience stores – you know, that bouncy, chewy consistency that you get from brands like Haribo or Trolli. Instead of a gummy that turned to mush and got stuck in your teeth (typically associated with pectin-based gummies), we chose to launch a gummy brand that would remind people of their favorite store-bought gummy, but with an added twist – cannabinoid nanoparticle infusions that would provide fast-acting, consistent effects with each batch.

What should our readers know about your business?
We are a small team with a work hard, play hard mentality. We run a relatively lean, tight ship, while still offering living wages to our employees. This “employee-first” strategy has been a huge piece of our continued growth and success. We wouldn’t be where we are today without our amazing team.

DŌSD Edibles first launched in Colorado and now operates in Colorado, Missouri, and Oklahoma. The industry’s landscape was much different upon launching DŌSD back in 2016. Whether it be increased competition or raw material sourcing, there have been and continue to be a fair amount of challenges we face on a daily basis. While many competitors have gone out of business due to mismanagement or cash flow problems, we’ve been able to weather the storm that comes along with a maturing industry.

Our executive team had a vision in 2016 and staying true to that vision has allowed us to overcome a plethora of challenges along the way. DŌSD now has over 25 flavor and/or cannabinoid offerings within the Nano Bite product line, with another dozen or so in the works. The famous “eye” logo associated with DŌSD is now widely seen on just about anything a sticker can go on, with customers willing to rep a brand & product that is consistent, reliable, and effective.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
In terms of food & drink – I’d hit Blue Pan or White Pie for pizza, American Elm for a top-notch French Dip, Angelos for their amazing chargrilled oysters, Retrograde speakeasy for cocktails, and Avery Brewing in Boulder for an all-around amazing beer experience.

For activities – A quick drive to the foothills will allow for a great hike prior to hitting the food/drink spots mentioned above. Concerts at Denver Botanic Gardens, or Red Rocks (of course) will leave you wanting more. For golf, I cant recommend Arrowhead enough. Amazing views and abundant wildlife.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My partners (Stephen & Brad) were just as responsible for creating DŌSD. Collectively, we worked our tails off to offer a unique, consistent product that consumers would come to love in multiple states throughout the country.
