We had the good fortune of connecting with Kylei Mitchell and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kylei, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I took on a creative career because my outlet growing up was always art. As a child and still now today, I love to draw, color, paint or even be crafty. Ultimately I fell in love with makeup and posting about it like a lot of other influencers. I even went to school to be a cosmetologist so I could pursue my dream of making other people feel beautiful. Creativity and artistry has always been super important to me, it was something so relaxing for me.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I feel as though everyone has a different path they took in order to get to where they are today. I think my outgoing personality and my care for others help to set me apart from others. I think I am most excited that I have gotten to do something that makes me happy and also something that allows me to connect with others in the same community. The process to get to where I am today was not easy by any means. I grew up in a broken home, suffered from my own mental health, and went through some tough decisions in life, such as doubting myself so much that I really didn’t know if this was what I should be doing in life. It would take me a minute to get out of my funk, but eventually, I learned that I was doing something that made me happy, and that encouraged me to keep going. I’ve learned that I am my biggest critic, however, I have also learned that I have a lot of people in my life, family, friends, and online followers, that are cheering me on, and watching me succeed. I want the world to know that I’m an average person that took a jump and I’ve been able to continue making my dream come true.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My family and I live in Colorado, a place that has beautiful places to visit. We have always loved going into the mountains, whether it was to camp, or walk around Estes Park and just enjoy the area. Nature here is beautiful and honestly something I love to brag about to others who come to visit.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
