Meet Lauren Steward | Clearview Cleaning & Organizing, Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lauren Steward and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lauren, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting Clearview Cleaning & Organizing LLC was finding that people have unmet cleaning and organization needs. Seeing firsthand that there is a lack of customized cleaning and organization services being offered within provided service area was a sign I could marry the two and create a more well-rounded approach and solution. Cleaning and organizing isn’t a cookie cutter service- it needs to be tailored to each guest we work with.
Starting this business was more than just a professional decision for me. I’ve always been passionate about making a positive impact on people’s lives. I saw a unique opportunity to do that through cleaning and organizing, What drives me every day is the ability to help someone solve a problem, buy back their time, and/or improve their quality of life, through their living space. From a quick standard clean to de-cluttering a severely hoarded living space (and everything in between) this is our passion.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I was in the car business for the majority of my 20’s and was unfulfilled and unhappy with my career choice. After taking a year off I went back to school to purse another career in the aesthetics world, only to find I didn’t feel aligned with my new chosen career path- but I continued on and began working at a Med-spa only to find out 2 weeks later they were filing for bankruptcy and closing their doors. I ran into several roadblocks and felt out of alignment. Several things happened- I had to make ends meet financially so I found a local hoarding company to work for in the interim of finding employment at another med spa. What happened next it still mind blowing to me. I feel in love with cleaning and organizing severely cluttered and filthy homes. Over the course of the next couple of years I got an LLC and general liability insurance, and I cleaned and subcontracted for several different types of cleaning companies. From commercial cleaning, residential cleaning, to restoration cleaning, to bio cleaning, organizing and de-cluttering. I did all of that prior to going solo to learn as much as possible. Then I moved into being an independent solo cleaner and from there I grew a book of business. I became so busy after a year I had to get serious about scaling and the next steps. Although we are still an incredibly small business the task at hand is still great. I have learned much along the way and found that I needed a mentor and someone to help create an infrastructure so I can work on my business not in my business. Along with amazing customers is an even more amazing team of women that work with me. With continued growth we never want to lose sight of the real importance which is providing quality service and a customized tailored approach to every guest. While maintaining how much we value every person that works with us.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Were based out of Lakewood a great coffee spot is Hello Coffee and a great spot to eat is Cafe Jordano, Meow wolf is another favorite if visiting Denver. If you’re into hiking I’m a huge fan of NCAR or Chautauqua Park in Boulder. Beautiful and not an insane drive from Denver.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Being a single woman owned business has had its hurdles and continues to provide new challenges for growth and opportunity- however, it has been a journey that blends independence, passion, and resilience.
I’ve been lucky enough to have a very supportive family that has given me the encouragement and confidence to bring this vision to life. I also have an incredibly helpful mentor that I respect and admire that continues to provide knowledge and insight that I alone wouldn’t have had.
