We had the good fortune of connecting with Leith McHugh and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Leith, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I started my business because one of my daughter’s died when she was 12. I had been her full-time caregiver and Certified Nurses Aide due to her severe special needs. My other two children were 15 & 9 at the time and did not need me as much as they did when they were little. I was trying to figure out what to do with myself after she died. I kept leaning into the question “What makes me come alive?”. Supporting women in moving forward in their lives and not staying stuck really makes me come alive!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
One of the things that sets me apart is that I have personal life experience in several categories that people fear the most and am thriving in life on the other side of deep trauma. Special Needs Child, Death of a Child, A Gay Child, A Child with Drug/Alcohol Addiction and Sexual Abuse. As one of my clients says I am a “scientist of emotion“. “Working with Leith has uncovered the deepest needs for growth in my life, whilst bringing optimism, encouragement, and belonging. I felt safe, heard, validated and ENOUGH.” Hayley M. I am most proud of and incredibly excited for my clients whose physical appearance literally improves as they grow internally. Gaining confidence, practicing better self care, working on amends & forgiveness, becoming aware of the importance of setting boundaries, identifying their values & intentions and taking a walk through their life story and all the things that have impacted them throughout their lives. It was not easy getting where I am today, like I said it came with a lot of trauma. However, I will say that it has been simple and smooth getting to where I am in my business today. Some of the lessons I continue to lean into are staying curious, open and committed to learning/growing. Reminding myself to “love & release” those who are not ready or interested in how I can support them. And finally, choosing to live from an abundance mentality, there are infinite possibilities and people to work with. Asking daily that my Higher Power would “Bring the people to me today who I need in my life and bring me to the people whose lives I need to be in. “God I am looking for the people who are looking for me”. “ In efforts to reach as many people as possible, I offer several different avenues to emotional wellness. Individual & Group Coaching, Workshops, Retreats, Mindfulness Programs & Zoom Calls. WHY do I do this? Because you matter. My name is Leith and the name of my company is LEITH. When you have a name like that, and Oprah, you gotta use it as your brand. (:
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would hang out at my home-it is my favorite place in the city. Then we would bust out to take a drive & maybe a hike through Garden of the Gods. Grab some coffee at Loyal or Starbucks. I like both. Eat at Shugas and Dos Santos. Stopping by Cork & Cask for a drink first. Maybe catch a Drag Show at Icons.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
