We had the good fortune of connecting with Lindsey Talafuse and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lindsey, what do you attribute your success to?
Relationships matter and my brand is built on forging and maintaining real relationships. In a world filled with technology, I often resort back to face-to-face conversations. People do business with people they like, and are like them. Over the past 15 years I have filled my client database with friends, family, and referrals. The relationship doesn’t end when the transaction is over, but continues on. I host multiple annual past client events each year and spend time driving from address to address dropping off goodies year round. In addition to maintaining these critical relationships, I also enlist my clients to help make a difference multiple times per year with charitable campaigns. At the end of the day, my business is not just about real estate, it’s about making a difference in my community and in the lives of the people I care so much about.

What should our readers know about your business?
One of the most important decisions I made while growing my business, was designing a business model that allowed me to pour back in to my community. Over the past 10 years I have been blessed to be heavily involved in The Junior League of Denver, serving in many leadership roles, and through my home sales I have been able to financially contribute to this incredible organization. In addition, my real estate team primarily serves “Hometown Heroes.” Serving those who serve has become a true passion of mine. My husband is a combat veteran and a professional firefighter, and we have chosen to focus our energy on serving these groups of people. Who is a “Hometown Hero”? Past or present Teachers, Nurses, Military, and First Responders. All of these folks receive a significant commission incentive from our team when they buy or sell a home with us, and we also make a donation to a non-profit that supports these men and women during their times of need. I enjoy running my real estate team, but ultimately want to use it as a catalyst to make a difference and leave a legacy.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We are absolutely doing some shopping and dining in Cherry Creek. We will need to eat at the Cherry Cricket, Quality Italian and Cherry Creek Grill. We may hit an Avalanche Game, Hike at the Ridgegate Bluffs in Lone Tree, get a round of golf in or head to the Zoo with the kids. Any chance for us to be outside enjoying the beautiful Colorado weather. If we have time, we will head west on a small mountain getaway. The mountains are the best thing about Colorado! Whether you’re checking out the small mountain towns or going on hikes and adventures, there is something for everyone.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The Junior League of Denver for helping me grow as a CEO and female entrepreneur. While serving in various leadership roles and especially as the JLD President, I learned the importance of teamwork, failing forward, and empowering those around you to lead alongside you.
