We had the good fortune of connecting with Loren Sofía and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Loren, social impact: how does your business help the community or the world?
One of the primary inspirations for my business is not only to help men and women put their best foot forward stepping into their pregnancy, but to create healthy future generations. Our health at the time of conception influences our future child’s health – and the health of their future children too. My goal is to empower parents-to-be to express the best version of themselves to help them get pregnant faster, reduce pregnancy complication risks, and have a resilient postpartum period that will have ripple effects into future generations to come.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I first started my business supporting women with their metabolism and hormones, but many of them started getting pregnant and I quickly fell in love with the entire journey of preconception to pregnancy to postpartum – and repeat! Paired with my personal fertility experiences and the difficult pregnancies of my mother, I knew that it was the right place for me. It’s a 2-for-1! By helping mom and dad optimize their fertility, I can optimize baby’s health too. I have been primarily focusing on preconception prep with my signature eCourse, Conscious Conception, but there’s so much exciting stuff coming down the pipe to support both parents through their entire journey. I really can’t wait for what’s in store!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I actually just had a friend stay with me, so this is fresh on my mind! Taking at least two hikes are a must. The Boulder Flatirons are a no-brainer, with a refuel at T/aco and then of course, rehydration at Finkel and Garf. And then depending on the season, I would do another hike to either see the wildflowers at Arapahoe Pass or Devil’s thumb. Or to see the aspen trees change colors at Maroon Bells or Buffalo Pass. I’d try to take a little day or overnight trip to Strawberry Springs up north. Depending on what’s happening at Red Rocks, a concert there is an absolutely must too. When spending time in Denver, I love to eat at Dio Mio, Hop Alley, and Machete. Meow Wolf is another fun pitstop. And if it’s September, we would of course have to hit up the Denver Gem and Mineral Show, which I don’t ever miss.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout is to my former, early 20-year old self. Who had been given up on by conventional medicine. And has spent a decade recovering from the effects of hormonal birth control. Without the tenacity and resilience of my younger self, I’m not sure I would be doing the work I’m doing today. My personal experience with hormonal birth control – subclinical hypothyroidism, autoimmune disease, prediabetes, candida, melasma… – and the health issues it spurred were what put me on the path to help others in reaching thriving health and fertility. It’s often the difficult experiences we learn the most from and while my story was not a happy one, it’s brought me to work that I absolutely love doing.
