We had the good fortune of connecting with Lorna Schlegel and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lorna, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I’m a firm believer that we’re only here for a short while, and we may as well make the very most of it while we still can. I really fully immerse myself in anything and everything that suits my fancy. Needless to say, I wanted to create a business that the sole purpose and goal was to help heal the body to its natural state through herbs. I truly believe that herbal medicine helps the body return to its natural balance. Born with a natural artistic talent, herbal creativity comes seamless, like I was meant to do this work. I’ve been in health care for many years now, by breaking away from prescription medications and harmful chemicals we can bring our mind and body back to a healthier balance of living better and longer.

Nature is everything, we learn everyday day what herbal medicine can do for a person’s health, so why not continue on with that path of life.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Naked Herbs Co is a small locally owned herbal tea company that was established in Denver, Colorado 2020. This Company is fueled by the healing benefits and powers of herbs and flowers. All blends have been handcrafted in small batches for specific healing needs. I have strong commitment to health, Naked Herbs Co uses only the highest quality organic herbs. There are no artificial dyes, flavors or sugars added to any of our products, all natural just the way Mother Nature intended. I believe that tea should be both mindful and safe without compromise. Naked Herbs Co goal is to provide customers with the safest alternatives from harmful medications that are in the market through herbal tea blends. All packaging is eco-friendly and re-usable. Getting to this point in my career and with my business was never an easy road but I’m thankful for those struggles because it’s been a humbling process and I’ve grown so much because of all this. Believing that I could find success in a hobby was key in this journey.
I want people to really appreciate and understand what I’m trying to do for not myself but them as well. I’ve been in health care for 13 years and educating on proper health practices is so important to longevity. Tea really is the cure you just need to drink it.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well going to the great sand dunes would be a great drive and place to camp. It’s such a serial place anytime of year. Strawberry hot springs is nice especially in the winter months. Meow wolf or the botanical gardens for a local event. Take a train ride or visit an abandoned ghost town because I’m weird like that. There are some beautiful waterfalls and great places to camp and hike so that would be a thing and visit local coffee shops or a dive Mexican spot for a quick taco.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Yes my fiancé deserves a big shoutout. He is a business owner himself and has been running Davis Tactical for 8 years. If I didn’t have him believing in my dream and pushing me to go for it I don’t think Naked Herbs Tea Co would have come to life in 2020. He was definitely the backbone behind guiding me on creating a website and how to properly design and advertise my products. He always gives a helping hand when it comes to his knowledge about financial expenses or what would really sell or how to handle emails professionally. He is my number one fan to my success and wants me to keep growing. I’m not originally from Colorado but he is so it’s really nice to have him here so I’m not in this alone. I really can’t thank him enough for all he does and has done for me. Love him.
